Thanks brother! Those two are just my latest release. I have four other tracks up. And this one will be released this Friday:

All added. I gotcha!

Also I feel it is worth commenting that I dig that all the album art for your releases have the same kinda vibe, feel and temperature on on the color wheel but all being entirely different. That's very cool man. I hope you stick with that mechanism.

I’m on all the streaming services. Spotify, Apple, Amazon, YouTube, YouTube Music, and a whole lot of others I don’t even know about. The problem with that is my distributor has been fucking up copyright info, and it’s really hard to get that fixed after it’s been sent to 450 different services.

I currently only have control over my Spotify and Apple artist accounts, but you can hear the tracks anywhere. I have a lot of work to do to get all my shit in order. I can’t wait to just get back to writing and recording.

Thanks man! I am doing some work on that, finding my visual style and “story” and all that. I hate it, but it’s necessary. I will probably start doing more photo cover art, as I’m pretty decent at photography and I’d like to get away from the AI art (though I am really happy with what I’ve managed with it).

I really want to do that. I think I have enough new material that will work together on an album, so that’s likely what I’ll do next. If so, I’m definitely going to do some vinyl. You can actually find an audience for that, as opposed to cd’s. I’d love to have at least one copy of Leia on vinyl for myself, but I don’t know how small of a run I could get.

I don't stream music other than if I want background stuff I just stream the channels on my cable ... (Sirius maybe ) ... and I have Prime .... but mostly if I'm going to listen to music I pick a record or CD ..... streaming as of yet just doesn't interest me.

After my digital distributor, CD Baby, disappeared their sales and reporting section for "maintenance" for more than 6 weeks, when it eventually returned they'd lost one of my albums, so I dug into the data and found it, nameless, amongst all the others - the songs had titles, but the album was blank. In the process of digging I found some of my songs were getting played hundreds of times on TikTok for total royalties of $0.00. Might have to untik that box when they get their system all straightened out again...

Damn. It seems that there's not yet a perfect answer when it comes to which distributor to use. They all have issues. I'm using Too Lost, which is horribly named but you can do everything through them, and they collect your money from everywhere. One of the main reasons I chose them is that you can do your copyright registration through them, but that turned out to be useless. You can't submit a song for copyright until you've already submitted it to them for release, and once you have released something you can't submit it as part of a group for copyright. It costs like $110 for one song, as opposed to $85 or so for a group of ten. So there's no way I'm going through my distributor for copyright, it would cost over $1000 just for ten songs. I did it all straight through the government portal, and it wasn't that big of a deal. Too Lost's customer support is abysmal, which I knew going in but I weighed it against a lot of other factors with other distributors. Basically if you're not one of their chosen artists, they don't give a shit about you. Now I'm thinking about switching to IndieFlow, which I was going to go with until I found out about Too Lost. They do everything EXCEPT copyright, which I no longer care about now that I've lost my apprehension about doing it myself. And they have artist development, mentors, stuff like that.

Holy butts! That's quite the upcharge for a $35 registration

technically you own the copyright automatically when you write something .... registration is just a dated statement basically.
Any way to prove when you wrote something.

But really guys ..... do any of ya'll really thing someone's gonna steal your song?

And if they do and it's a hit, that's better success than you would ever achieve on your own and great advertising for you.
I hope and pray someone steals one of my songs ..... that would be fucking awesome.

Yep, had this exact conversation with a friend the other day. I’d like someone to steal my stuff.

My workplace was thinking of doing a story because TN signed the ELVIS act, which protects artists from having their voice, image, likeness used from AI. They were thinking of getting local artists to see what that meant to them. I told them it really only affects the big artists. Little guys like me or even those playing in the small festivals in our small cities? Doesn’t really work. I mean, it APPLIES to all of us, sure. But like you said, nobody is going to steal our stuff.
“Naaaaaaaaaah man. I ain’t touching that mic. That thing’s expensive!”
