Trained ears please help me out.

Post by WhiskeyJack »

Looking at @Lt. Bob, @musicturtle, @vomitHatSteve off the top of my head.

In that song there in the chorus bit, (i think i shared via time stamp in hopes it just goes right into the chorus) is there some kind of harmonization of the vocals going on? Or is there just two people singing together in the same key on top of each other. I've never been great at picking out that stuff.

Let me know your professional thoughts.

Sounds like two people singing in unison(singing the same part at the same time)

They just on are not in complete sync as far as timing goes, but that actually sounds kinda cool to me.

That's what it sounded like to me too but i am never sure when it comes to vocal harmonies stuff unless it blatantly obvious like some of the harmonies we here VHS do.

Might check out other versions of this and see what others do. Thanks for your time MT.

Is it this video?

They're mostly singing in unison on the chorus. But they're harmonizing a little.

In the second chorus, they do different melodies on "oh glory / I'll fly away"
In the first chorus, they had just harmonized on the "I'll fly away" of that same line
The last two choruses are full unison.
