Lt Boob amp PART 2 - the other boob!

Before your eyes is another amp build for [mention]Lt. Bob[/mention]!!!!!!



This one's a Marshall!!!

Specifically....an 18w "TMB" Marshall. This kit comes from Mojotone and I must say it came beautifully organized and the documentation is excellent. Nice huge blueprint sized schematic came with it. Superb kit....provided everything is right. But it looks great so far.

The original 18w Marshalls from way back in the day had a tremolo channel and a normal channel with just a tone control. Not everyone wants the tremolo so somewhere along the way that channel was converted to a more-gain channel with actual treble, middle, and bass controls...hence the "TMB" name. That's what this is....a TMB 18 watter. This one will be a tube rectified EL84 amp. It should have a very vintage Marshall Bluesbreaker type tone with a little grunt. It will be a very different flavor from the Deluxe Reverb we just did. But like that DR, this one will be a head and have a few beauty accents. We will keep this one pretty much dead-stock. It should be wonderful just as it is.

This one *should be* a piece of cake compared to the Deluxe Reverb. But of course I haven't done it yet.

I've dug into the schematic and I've noticed the preamp section for the TMB channel is damn near a JCM800 preamp! This thing is gonna be a little bad ass.

That's right - good catch. No choke on this one. The voltages are relatively tame and there's a lot of filtering, so no choke needed.
