What program did you use to make the video?
Freebee called DaVinci Resolve that VHS recommended to me. Little bit opaque at first, but then when I got to grips with the basic controls it was really easy and quite intuitive to use. Try it.

Ok thanks. I think I'm the last person on earth that can't make a fucking video. There are naked jungle tribes in africa that can shoot and edit a halfassed video together and I still can't.

Its not even all that time consuming - if I can do it, you can do it easily. Just download and install that package and start fucking about with it. If you get stuck just look on YouTube. I've not been stuck for longer than a 5 minute YouTube video yet.

Well I DL'd and installed Davinci Resolve and it doesn't work. Won't open. Something about panels or something. Fuck it. I swear the universe is dead set against me doing video. Nothing I ever try works.

Might be abl3 to help you with it this evening after work if you're online. You're probably best getting VHS or Tad involved though.

I had similar issues - VERY annoying so I went back to the simple prog I've used this & last year.

It's never gonna happen for me. I've tried three or four programs now to make a simple fucking video. Zilch on all of them. I've got a bad ass camera that I can't even get files off of. It just aint meant to be.

If you had a Mac at your disposal, iMovie would be worth a try - it's really easy (but not as powerful as some others, I think).

I thought I was just wearing a wooly (hipster) jumper. Big difference in the how dry the room is though - should be getting carpet soon too.
Don't be in a mad rush to carpet the floor - hard floors can be good for studio sound. For some reason acoustic guitars sound good recorded over a hard floor.

I'm carpeting it 'cos the floor is fucking hanging! Its cheapo '90s laminate wood flooring that's been badly laid by a fuckwit. Its not like I record loads of acoustic guitars anyway.
I used to find that in my hard floored room where I used to record (see Ido's DIY thread) that acoustics recorded better with the curtains closed as there was too much reflection off the glass with the curtains open. If I do record acoustics in there and find the room too dry I might just try opening the curtains in the first instance... not sure how well that will work.
The other thing about getting it carpeted is that it will be quieter downstairs when I'm recording electric guitars.
I can't even remember right right. Canon something or other. I tried messing with it like a year ago and just gave up. Lol.
Greg... I'm pretty sure that your main problem with videos is that you basically don't give enough of a fuck to put any effort in... which is fine! Its not like its a lifestyle requirement.

My main problem is that even though I don't want anything to do with video, it bugs me that I can't just conquer it while people way dumber than me can do it with no problem. Lol.

Why don't you set yourself a one hour challenge to get a short video sorted? You'll manage it in that time if you stick at it and look stuff up when something goes wrong.
Start by filming yourself playing a few licks while recording in Reaper (I only suggest that as it gives you some Audio and video to synch up). Then transfer the video to your computer and just work at it, for an hour until you get it sorted. Googling whatever errors come up.

I don't know. Maybe. I tried that with Reaper a few times....no dice.

Yeah - Reaper was a disaster for me too. DaVinci worked fine though. Just google the panels problem.
