Low bleed headphones?
Re: Low bleed headphones?
just get some isolation phones ..... unless you have the click stupid loud in front of a ridiculously loud mic I can't imagine it leaking enough to be a problem.
Plus the Beyerdynamics are good phones for mixing.
Dunno about the iso cans Greg mentioned but perhaps they are too.
I use phones for a lot of things so IMO a good set of cans is needed anyway.

Re: Low bleed headphones?
Even cheap in-ears will do better than headphones. Even the $40 ones on Amazon.
Re: Low bleed headphones?
Recording headphone bleed and flipping the phase... it did precisely nothing.

Re: Low bleed headphones?
Did you make sure to line it up exactly with the other waveform?
Re: Low bleed headphones?
Line up the waveform, flip the phase, adjust the volume of the flipped click for maximum cancelation
Re: Low bleed headphones?
Meh, I'll just re-record it at some point when I get better headphones.

Yeah, fixing at the source usually seems the better choice

or learn to keep time ...... I'm not sure I've ever used a click track

Honestly, a little bit of this too. It is surprising that you'd still need a click track by the time you reach the vocal recording step, JD

^^^^ this sounds like a solution ^^^^Armistice wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 6:03 pm I don't use a metronome. I program the basic drum pattern and use that. That way if there's bleed it's just more drums. And I keep it low anyway and only have cans over one ear so I can hear what I'm playing/singing through the other, which in turn allows you to keep the "click" lower.
Struggled with this same issue with earlier Armistice stuff, which was very acoustic guitar heavy, and finger style as well, until I worked it out.
Re: Low bleed headphones?
I'm doing stuff without drums at the moment, just a mate of mine wants to work on some acoustic stuff. Anyway, I have a plan... I'm just gonna count in manually on a track that I'll delete to get everything to come in together.
Then I'll just use what I've already done as scratch tracks and re-record without a click when I have the existing tracks to play along with.

sounds like a plan and I'll use throwaway tracks for that very purpose ....... but you prolly need better headphones anyway .... almost everyone does.JD01 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 2:29 pm I'm doing stuff without drums at the moment, just a mate of mine wants to work on some acoustic stuff. Re: Low bleed headphones?
NOw that i think of it, i am 99% sure i did a thread in here somewhere where i demo'd earphone bleed from isolating cans versus non-isolating. But i'll wager a bet the attachements are long gone after the great purge of 2025.
