Looks like they're both made of MDF so they'll be dense and heavy. And yeah there are dozens of options for clamp-on or screw-in headphone holders. Although MDF isn't exactly famous for taking screws well, so maybe go with something that clamps instead. The speaker swivels might be annoying if they rotate easily...you might get them pointed right where you want them, then accidentally move them every time you dust.

I think they both look nice, although you'd probably be happier with one that'd fit your existing keyboard instead of having to downsize to a 49-key or something.

Anyone heard of a horizontal guitar rack? Basically like a bookshelf, where you lay guitars horizontally in it instead of books vertical? Would be a good way of me conveniently storing guitars under a sloping roof.

Aside from a guitar rack that I'll need to buy or build.
I've got my desk set up. No room treatment yet.

Wow I thought it would be bigger and an actual room.

Have you considered putting the pedalboard under the desk?

Its way bigger than the last room - nearly twice the floor size.

Yeah, I might do eventually, but it'll probably be more annoying under there.

Looks nice and tidy JD, congrats on the new room finally being done!

I see what you mean when you wanted to hang your guitars to save floor space (and probably keep them out of harm's way with the little ones). If you have the wall space, you could hang a couple or a few guitars with something like this:

All of the guitar wall hangers that I've used have been that same brand, String Swing. I trust them, at least as far as I trust the wall that they're mounted to.

Hmmm...that link didn't work for me. Maybe this one with all of the invasive tracking info built into it?

I'm going to build myself a little thing of guitar shelfs - just so I can lay the guitars flat in them, up against the low wall on the left hand side.

Armistice wrote: ↑Mon Jul 21, 2025 9:03 pm How many guitars are we talking? The heating outlet isn't doing you any favours there in terms of space. I would have suggested just a shelf or two on top of that were it not there, but it is and I'm not sure you want to store guitars above a heater.

What's happening on the other side of the room behind the camera... is there more space?
There's about 2m to the left of the piano, it's a pretty long room. So plenty of room for me to rack some guitars. The angled roof starts 80cm off the floor so plenty of room to rack 4 or 5 guitars.

Hey! there it is! Tidy little spot. Must be nice ot be moved in and have a little extra room. I know it's there i just can't see it. I grew up in an old house where the ceiling in my room slanted like that. It was different. But once you get used to it.

Will be interesting to hear how the mixes come out. How the room will reflect and diffuse. Will any kind of compensation be needed or anything. I have no clue.

Congrats JD. I think i am sort of on board with hanging them on the walls were it up to me.

I did bit of recording and a mix on the weekend, pretty pleased with it so far. Haven't done any vocal recording yet - going to wait until I've got the room as least partially treated before I do that. I mate of mine wants to try singing something so I've completed the instrumental track in advance.

Bulk of the room treatment next week, gonna finish building my green velvet lined guitar shelf too!

I love it! It looks really sharp, man. Did it do anything appreciable towards cutting the reverb in the room?
