Mighty Mite Guitar Necks.
Anyone have any experience with these necks here? Are they any good? Currently on closeout / blowout sale at StewMac and i feel like the price is really good, i have seen the name pop up all over the internet and i am sure there are reviews abound but looking at my overly trusted network for hands on Experience.
@Lt. Bob Have ou got one of these on anything you own ?
I'd like to replace the neck on my own tele because if i had a gripe it is that the neck that is on it now that came with the kit, moves, bends, and requires a truss rod adjust for every 5% shift in humidity. I've never seen anything quite as wild as that.
I also wouldn't mind sticking a new neck on that Squire i found at the local dump too because why not get it playable.

I've got them on two guitars I own and have gigged extensively ..... one I built 45 years ago and used it 6 nights a week for many years .... still have it ... still plays great.
The other I have gigged for years here in Fl in the sun and salt air ..... still nice.
Nice necks .... basically a Fender neck or at least that's how they feel to me.
And I actually bought 4 more for some guitars I'm building when I saw the prices ...... good necks for decent prices.

The original Mighty Mite stuff was stella. They ain't as top drawer as they were back in the 80's and 90's but they are still more than decent stuff. Certainly not entry level. A few steps up from that. I've worked on a bunch of them over the years and they are a joy, well put together with decent materials.
You would be hard pressed to beat them at that price for anything similar. Go for it.

I have a strat I made using Mighty Mite neck and body 45 years ago .... padauk neck and padauk body .... I really want to sand it down and refinish it .... back then I used some spray platic something or other and it's darkened so much you don't see that glorious orange color anymoremuttley wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 3:34 pm The original Mighty Mite stuff was stella. 45 years !!! Man MM has been around a while then. I did a little bit of review research and everything aligns to the word of your guys reviews here.
Going to check the website here as Blake suggested and see what's out there for me.

Re: Mighty Mite Guitar Necks.
Padauk does that real quick. It goes from that amber orange fresh cut colour to near black in next to no time. There isn't a lot you can do to stop it or even slow it up. A UV based finish can help and keeping it out of direct sunlight helps but it still changes real quick.Lt. Padauk is one of the few timbers I really hate working with. Nothing wrong with it but it is full of silica and resin and blunts tools real quick. It also shoots splinters at you as soon as you look at it. It's a solid strong timber when it's worked though. It's not too common these days due to over logging and CITIES stuff, at least the real Andaman stuff is.
Somewhere in my shop I have some of the very first ever Mighty Mite humbuckers that they made. I had them in a gigging guitar for ages when we were doing the late 70's punk and new wave thing. They were fantastic for the time when you really couldn't get anything decent OEM pickup wise. Here at least, back then Mighty Mite stuff was a real revelation.
Re: Mighty Mite Guitar Necks.
They have been around since the mid 70's. From memory the trademark was sold in the early 80's and they scaled up production levels and some of the real quality dropped but they were still the best after market stuff around at the time. They tailed off and were relaunched some time in the 90's. I think MIRC own them now.WhiskeyJack wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 4:56 pm .............

I could. yes. But unfortunately on a tele that headstock look more phallic than it already does. Only it looks a little more happy than usual. I prefer my Tele to have a bit of E.D.vomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 11:12 amDisppointing.
