Universal Audio plugins - quick run through & comparison

Post by liv_rong »

I got the Universal Audio UAD Essentials Edition Plug-in Bundle and just did a super quick re-do of this little idea I recorded the other day. The og is using the stock plugs with Ozone on the main mix. The new version I kept the Ozone and just swapped out compressors and eq on individual tracks and used presets on them (except for the plate reverb on one of the snare tracks). The guitar track is raw and only the drums tracks are processed. I would say so far I like these a lot and better than the stock ones. And for $50, a great price.

Sounds good. I got several of these plugins when I bought the UA Volt 276 interface.

I really like the Leveler collection of compressors and the Pure Plate Reverb. Haven't tried the tube channel strip yet.

The guitars with the UA plugins certainly sound less muddy, and the rides are crisper.

Nothing on the guitars! The ole placebo effect eh?!

Maybe it's just something else that was building up conflicting frequencies?

I am only on my work earbuds and the drums with the new plugs sounds awesome. The snare is breathing really nicely in that one. :like: :like: :sherlock: :like: :like:
