So I am putting together some music education videos and I came up with a little theme for the beginning of each.

Any advice on mix, tones or just in general will be appreciated.

Is this like intro music to a series of shows? I'm guessing so.

The big question to me would be if you're going to talk over this while introducing each show. If not, and you're just showing a title or something, I think this could work. If you plan to introduce each show by talking over this music, I think this be a struggle. There is too much going on musically that is going to distract from the voice. I'm not experienced at those things, so take my advice with a grain of salt. But that's my uneducated opinion.

Could use more bass though, very quiet in the mix right now.

Also, generally - if this is an intro for something like a series of YouTube videos its way too long!
You want 10s maximum! 5 would be better. And then you could try just losing the lead guitar, dipping the level of the rhythm track and introducing the show over the top of it before a quick riff at the end to signify the end of the intro and the start of the show.

Thanks man. I will look at trimming it down. I am not going to do any speaking over it. Maybe I will just break it up for segues into different parts of the lesson. I am looking at 20 - 30 minute videos to take the place of an in person lesson. They will be several small segments on the same theme.

Cheers, mate. We’re up to about 16 eps now with more lined. It’s doing fairly well but a welsh surfing podcast is always gonna be a bit niche

That sounds pretty good. There is a lot going on in there, almost like what you are aiming for as an end result to the series. You set a high tempo/temperament level with it, and that may be hard to follow with your content. Or is that your intent?

What's the age range for the lessons? I know you've worked with kids before, and jangly guitar rock might not match their sensibilities.

To echo what everyone else said, you probably want a shorter version of this for the intro. For the outro, this version probably works - depending on what your credits card/links look like.

As an educational tool I think the length is good...it's the "We'll be starting as soon as the music stops so put those things down and settle...active listening positions please" music to prefix the lesson.
