So this month I decided to futz around with Fiverr (Mostly, I had a friend who was trying to drum up business with it, and as long as I was there...)

So I got analog drums, bass, and mezzo soprano vocals for about $50-$60.

This is a cool song...as usual.
The mix seems quite muddy though.
$60 total or per part.
The Mezo works though I wasn't sure if it was meant to be lead or duet when it comes in.
Revenge songs...gotta love 'em.

Very cool song. I agree about the muddiness.

I feel like you could layer even more vocals on the “toniiiight” in the chorus. But that’s subjective. This might be my favorite of yours so far.

Nice tune! I don't have my good speakers down here so can't comment on the alleged muddiness. You've done well for $50/60 however! Can't believe you subbed out the bass too though.

Mainly I think the guitars (abomination?) and the drums are a bit too quiet.
When you girls are giving it everything you can barely hear the drums.

I normally think the abomination makes everything muddy, but I think it this case it might be 'cos you can barely hear it, so it just sounds like undefined background mud with no definition.

Agree with the muddiness. Mostly in the guitar on the left and in the bass. The mix is missing some top end, which adds to the problem.

I think the problem is in the instrument bed. The vocals sounds good.

The drums, especially the snare, are a bit buried.

I like the song. I like just about all your songs.

New mix in the OP. Tweaks to the reverb bus. Drums and abomination way up. Bass down a little.

Better? Close enough, or still a long ways off?

Trip-m, I see what you're saying about everything being a little low range. Maybe I'll take the organ up an octave and see if that helps.

MUCH clearer.
Upping the pitch on the organ would be, I suspect, very annoying.
The kick seems woolly but is clear to hear.
The vocals sit far better now too.

I think the 2nd mix is better, but I think there are still some things to address.

The guitar on the left isn't muddy now. But it's a little fizzy sounding and really quiet.

The bass is still a little muddy. I also think it's overall just a bit too loud.

A word or two of the lead vocal gets lost here and there. If you could compress it a little harder it might.

One of those synth parts is way back in the mix.

Re-added a cab sim I'd accidentally muted.
Random synth boosted.
One synth boosted up an octave.

I usually can't stand them. Unless it's an intentionally-loud breath for effect, I'd rather just not have them.

COOL!!! Sometimes I feel like a dick for not getting in on these threads off the hop but it's also cool to come in three or four mixes in and connect the dots and walk through the evolution of the jam. ray's are always a treat and this one is cool. too.

Mix wise i got nothing. I think the snare bit should be a bit louder. If there is a guitar or anything on the right it's not really overly balanced with whatever is going on with the left. But that could just be me over listening to a VHS jam. It may very well need to be like that but.

On top of all my other technical glitches i got going on it seems my left monitor is glitching out a little. I need to give it a quick blast of high DB's to get it to work right before listening and i am not 100% sure if these orange headphones are fair to use for critical listening. I mean they sound heaps better than the last ones i was using but how much of it is artificial flavoring?

Interesting you went to fiverr. I've been hanging out on there looking for some other stuff, PM a link and a link to your friends fiverr profile and let me know when this is done and i'll pump it out on twitter and see it can get them on a different radar?

really really like harmonies and chorus to this one. I am sucker for mal female duo's. Very cool!

The kick is a bit loud.

The synth in the intro could probably could come up a db or two.

During the verses, there is the guitar on the left (which sounds good now), without much to balance it on the right.

I think the mix is real good now. Everything I commented on is pretty nitpicky.
