Island Song

Post by CrowsofFritz »

This is a cover of a pretty little song found in an American cartoon called Adventure Time. I liked it enough to record it. :smiles:

Nice tune. There is a real nice feel to your performance.

I think the guitar is a bit heavy in the low end. Just a bit. I think if the right adjustments were made to the low end, it would have really nice clarity and warmth.

Maybe pull down one of the doubled vocal tracks. Pull it back to the point where you can just barely notice it's doubled. Then I'm thinking if you maybe notch it out somewhere in the 300-500 area, it'd clear it up a bit. It's slightly cloudy.

Just small tweaks, I think. It was a real nice listen.

Thanks @TripleM !

I’ll definitely EQ that guitar. I think I’m going to keep the vocals the way they are in the spirit of the original.

There's some kind of thump at 0:17.

Adventure time? Needs more bass then. (I'm not familiar with this song, but Marceline is the only character I've ever seen hold an instrument)

Has a solo J Masics feel/sound.
There's a lot of bottom end and mud to clear up but it's cool.
Cheers

Yeah, as others have said - touch muddy. The guitar and vocal are also meshing together on a really weird frequency that's meshing together and getting me right between the eyes. have a listen carefully on headphones - you'll notch it out.

Have you hi-passed the vocals?

@vomitHatSteve I believe Jake plays a viola and the Ice King plays the drums. There’s a sad episode where Marceline plays a duo with the Ice King (formerly Simon Petrokov), who went crazy because of the crown.

Thanks @rayc !

@JD01 I don’t believe I did any EQing at all. Problem numero uno lol.
