Yet another
I bought an OB-6 and a VC340 vocoder and theyre on just about everything I make now. Ive been really trying to get the production to sound like synths melting on the sun, all gooey...sometimes it gums up the mix but as my last track was so bright I thought I might share this one as its one of my favourites.

Re: Yet another
I really want to start using my vocoder and also my talkbox.
I'm kinda using guitar to sound like it's not a guitar these days so I'm down with your direction.
this thing is really the kinda stuff I listen to a lot.
Sounds great to me and I like the tunage.
I have several Andreas Vollenwieder albums on my MP3 player and I listen to them while doing yardwork .... never tire of it.
i'ma gonna put this one on my MP3 player ...... i could listen to this over and over and, in fact, I will.

Re: Yet another
you have eclectic taste! wouldnt have put you down for anything new age(ish)
Thanks for listening, glad you liked it...I was pretty pleased with it. I done a few recently Ive liked, but in between still made some shockers. It shows the limit of your talent

well I like stuff like that most of all.itsnotkcearl wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 2:18 pm you have eclectic taste! wouldnt have put you down for anything new age(ish)
Andres Vollenweider is a fav of mine ..... also Dead Can Dance is another absolute fav.
I'm actually a bit bored with standard music ..... I do like it ..... I mean, I basically like ALL music ..... but to me it all starts to sound like something else that sounds like something else and with my memory for music where I essentially remember everything I hear, it's hard not to make those connections.
12 notes and the western rhythmic structure can only do so many things and I've heard and played most every variation a zillion times.
I'm not saying I don't like it ...... I can listen to almost anything and enjoy it ..... but I prefer something different these days.
I've been on a buying spree getting stuff to get a guitar to make sounds a guitar doesn't make.
I have several of the E.H. things .... a Key9 and an Organ Machine and a Ravish Sitar and a POG and I just got a Roland Aerophone AE-10.
No use whatsoever in my current gigs but for recording and when the time comes for me to step out I'm gonna have something interesting to show.

Great pedals...I dont have many pedals for sound design but I love the super ego+ and the SL20 which are pretty uniqueLt. Re: Yet another
That kick drum is really solid.
Vocoder always draws me back to Kraftwerk. No surprise there.
This is really cool Keef.
Nothing overdone - the panning is spot on.
Instant Classic.
Would you mind posting an MP3 I could download?

This sounds really solid, @itsnotkcearl. I'm a big fan of vocoders, myself. I just can't find spots to use them often enough in my own songs.
I could use more sub in that bass synth, just to feel it in my teeth. Good mix, everything is clear and present. Nice work!

Sounds even better as a wav file.
That bass line reminds me of Being Boiled - nice n gritty.
Cheers

This one is really cool. Love that sub-synth thing.
All the panning and the way the sounds move through the mix is great.
Not of the sounds are uncomfortable/harsh on the ear. Really good listen.

Re: Yet another
This comes in loud! (Or maybe it's just SC shenanigans)
This sounds pretty good. The vocoder might be a touch loud in the second stanza (verse?). After the drums come in but before the pads get really loud. It feels like the vox should be a little buried in the mix to me

Re: Yet another
Kinda hard to tame the vocoder...I want to hear the remnants if words but even loud theyre pretty incomprehensible. Its a three trick machine but I love those threevomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 11:57 am This comes in loud! (Or maybe it's just SC shenanigans)

Re: Yet another
Oh, I didn't mean in terms of the effect. I was accepting it as a given that the vocals would be incomprehensible. I meant the overall instrument of vocal with vocoder is sticking out of the mix in that section.itsnotkcearl wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 9:41 pmKinda hard to tame the vocoder...I want to hear the remnants if words but even loud theyre pretty incomprehensible.
