I'm kinda done with my plug purchasing.
I've cherry-picked most of the decent stuff from Waves...probably about 3 dozen plugs.
Then I have about 2/3 of the plugs offered at Plugin Alliance (brainworx/SPL/Maag)...which another 30 plugs.
And I have all of the Kush Audio stuff...and then a few other things...not to mention all the stock plugs that come with my DAW.
So that's more than enough to get me through anything I need to do.
If something really, really cool comes up that I can't live with...I might brab it, but at this point, I'm just buying any upgrades that come along for the shit I have...but I don't need anything new.
Let's talk about plug-ins...
Re: Let's talk about plug-ins...
yeah, I know. As I am not to familiar with that plug-in world. I'm thinking about getting Toontrack EZmix 2 Complete and iZotope Ozone 7 elements. Just to help me with final mix and mastering while I'm learning to deal with more complex stuff.
Re: Let's talk about plug-ins...
AD2 has some great sounds, as good/better than others IMO...All of the drum vst's have their strengths/weaknesses, so I try to use them in a mix-mash/franken-kit to get the best out of 'em...
Personally, I'd pass on EZmix myself, you can replicate about everything that does & then some with a little trial/error/patience...No opinion on the IZotope Elements, but I have read good things about the limiter in Ozone...
I think I'm pretty much done with plugins myself, unless something "big" appears on the radar, like Superior Drummer 3 (I've read rumors for ages...nothing confirmed, just rumors) or something of the sort...I'm pretty much set with everything I have plugin-wise...I did buy Amplitube 4 when it was released as an impulse buy, so you never know...

Re: Let's talk about plug-ins...
The only plug I've bought was a VST wrapper needed for Cakewalk but in Reaper the native/bundled set is cool & a few freebies make it excellent.

Yes, it does make sense. I'm trying to learn with the plugins I got with my DAW. Sometimes it sounds too artificiall for my ears but sometimes it does a good job.Minerman wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2017 2:23 pmAD2 has some great sounds, as good/better than others IMO...All of the drum vst's have their strengths/weaknesses, so I try to use them in a mix-mash/franken-kit to get the best out of 'em...

Learning and patience must be the key.

I'm still using the Free Magnus "Ambience" plugin occasionally. 32- bit but exceptionally tweakable and has some of the greatest hard room simulations I've come across.
