I don't actually remember William Alexander but he was immortalized in my mind in the (exaggerated, but funny) bit that Patton Oswalt did on Feelin' Kinda Patton in 2008: https://youtu.be/9ovpLXHMSqI
Well, that's a very funny bit. But I still say if you watch any of his episodes, you'll totally enjoy it. I always felt he explained things a bit better. And some of my favorite shows had him saying things like "fire into the canvas!!!" while the easel was shaking. I believe I heard him utter "happy little" regarding mountains and trees first, if I'm not mistaken. I do like Bob Ross and I used to watch him after I got out of school. But Bill Alexander was beyond entertaining. Just my opinion, of course.Tadpui wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 12:33 amI don't actually remember William Alexander but he was immortalized in my mind in the (exaggerated, but funny) bit that Patton Oswalt did on Feelin' Kinda Patton in 2008: https://youtu.be/9ovpLXHMSqI

If you wanna track church bands, you should be golden. One stand for the acoustic guitar player (the guitar is DI'd). Two for the piano. One for the drums - as far away as possible so it's not too loud.Lt. Bob wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 12:06 pm
Also , since it'll record 24 tracks at once, I may set up for live field recordings of bands.
Could maybe make some money with that.
I pretty much have enough mics for that although I only own about 4 stands so I'd have to get more of those.
More cables too.
More headroom than a '53 Pontiac!Lt. Bob wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 3:20 pm Ordered one of these Monday and it's already here so I can gig it this weekend.

Well, based on your recent recordings you could do with a nice amp, a steel strung acoustic, maybe a mic or two.CrowsofFritz wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 12:40 pm Now that I have a job, my GAS is kicking in. Somebody stop me! Lmao
Well, @JD01 on these digital speakers they'll only put out 1000 watts for a milli-second right before they burst into flames!
My recent thinking has gone along the lines of "Microphones are to recordists as paintbrushes are to artists." I think I've bought more mics this year (3) than in the previous 6-7.JD01 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 12:47 pmWell, based on your recent recordings you could do with a nice amp, a steel strung acoustic, maybe a mic or two.CrowsofFritz wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 12:40 pm Now that I have a job, my GAS is kicking in.
