Mix 5 is good. Your vocals cut through better now too. Bass is still thick and dominant but not rumbling my ear drums now. Might be ready for the fork.

Coming in at Mix 5 after a long break from this forum.
Even taking into account re-calibrating my ears for this being a VHS mix the kick is woofy as hell to me.
There's a weird dipping in the vocal in a few spots - listen to "Devours all creators..." Its like the vocal has been dragged right down by a compressor there. Sounds a bit like that massive bass end you have is triggering a compressor in a really weird way.
Really interesting original tune as always, Steve.

I hear what you're saying with the dipping. Butts.JD01 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 8:02 am Coming in at Mix 5 after a long break from this forum.

Alright. I'll revisit it and figure out what that is. (Probably the mastering chain)

New mix in the OP
and here: https://www.therecordingrebels.com/down ... hp?id=5246
I toned down the mastering compression a little and added more compression to the lead vocal. I can still hear the dipping a little, but I think it's tenable now.
