Honey Hunters / Remember My Name
Re: Honey Hunters / Remember My Name
I this sounds great Armi,
The only thing I can think of now is that, while the snare sounds good, its a bit on the loud side!
Really excellent though, mate.

Soooo very good!
Lyrics are excellent, and the bed they ride on is perfectly executed.
All round really nice tune.
Not crying though, should have had the beer instead of the coffee but it's only 9:16 AM here.

Thanks CeeBee and einstein magoo - maybe I should reinvent myself as a country balladeer...
JD01 - I think you're right, I have v4 which I haven't posted where I've taken the edge off the snare just a bit and tidied up a few minor plosive issues that have been bugging me.

LOL.Armistice wrote: βWed Jul 15, 2020 7:44 pm OK - so @WhiskeyJack wins the laser ears prize for the day.... there was a guitar squeak at about 3.12, but there's a few of them so I figured that wasn't it, and there was nothing on the drum track, but in the word "evenings" on the main vocal, as I'm singing "...nings" there was a sort of shwshw sound of indeterminate origin. Very subtle and I clearly didn't notice it when comping the track together. I couldn't really hear it in the mix, but it was definitely there in the solo track.
Couldn't be fixed so I found a cleaner "evenings" from the takes and patched it in.
I've also added a quiet snare roll or two on @SweetDan 's recommendation, and softened the kick a smidge by increasing the attack - it was just a bit thumpy, especially at the start, and taken a gnat's hair off its volume in the first section as well. And I removed a kick at the end of the first verse which didn't need to be there.
So I may be close to done.

And here is the offending noise spotted by Eagle Ears WJ...![]()

Thanks @musicturtle - glad you like it.![]()
No that isn't what i heard. But what i heard is now gone regardless and has a bit of a snare rattle near where this noise used to live. Sorry for all the undue stress over micro nits. I will keep these things to myself from now on.
Really good sounding mix you got there now Armi.

Re: Honey Hunters / Remember My Name
So I listened to this in a real world setting - my car, at volume - and the bass guitar was overpowering, so I've trimmed it back a little and just evened out the odd note... I'm calling it done.

Just discovering this. . . it is really lovely! I love your production, your voice is wonderful. I didn't get to hear your original post but, this is great!
If I knew what I was doing, I'd be dangerous!
Re: Honey Hunters / Remember My Name
Thanks Alison, bit of a stylistic departure for me, but I hate having a good chord sequence going to waste...

Nice one, mate.
I'll look forward to HH2.
