I agree with all this. Melodically it works much much better. Like Bubba and I have said, you just need to sing it harder, move more air, and it will be just right. Sing loud, from your gut, it'll happen. I'm also not a fan of the vocal ambiance. It's not helping. If you like it that way, cool, rock on with it. That's fine. I just think it's detracting more than helping.Bubba wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 8:59 am The vocals are coming on melodically Ray, but I think you need to move twice as much air when you singIt would definitely improve the tone. And still, I can't get on with the ghastly amount of ambience you have on everything. Do you like it? Is that what you're going for? Because it's always, always the same, no matter what anybody says to you. If it is, just put it to bed and say "fuck off, that's how I want it" because otherwise it's like me yelling pointlessly into a void.
The guitars sound good, though.

Yeah that's an improvement. Keep working with it. I still think the vocals can come up but cleaning them up has been a definite improvement.rayc wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 10:46 pmI found the problem @Greg_L ,
When I rendered the track, (NO active reverb anywhere in the project), it was very quiet so I ran it through my simple faux master template. In that template are stacked limiters n EQ with a compressor & reverb at the top as extra options.
I hadn't noticed the reverb was selected/active when I ran the rendered file through it. I just checked the levels and let it go. THAT active reverb had WIDE CHAMBER in it which explains the sound.
Here it is without that reverb...
