Ginger Was Hotter Than MaryAnn
Ginger Was Hotter Than MaryAnn
minerman programmed the drums. Thanks minerman!!
Anyway let me know what you think.
Lyrics for anyone who cares...
Ginger Was Way Hotter Than Mary Ann
Here's a perplexing question that I've got
I sort of wanted to know what you all thought
It's one of the monster questions of our time
Would you take Ginger or Mary Ann if it was your dime?
Cute little pigtails or a bit of a whore?
Leggy and long or the girl next door?
Which one's your girl if you ran the store?
Here's my thing, but I don't know I'm right
All I know is I know what looks tight
I'm going to say this once, so take down notes
It was Ginger in a walk and it ain't even close
Given the option of glitter and shine
I'll take an evening gown each time
A halter might be your pick, but it ain't mine
CHORUS
Ginger is hot as hot can be
I don't know about you, but she does it for me
Leggy and long, yeah you can call me a fan
'Cause Ginger was always hotter than Mary Ann
Yeah Ginger was always hotter than Mary Ann
I can't begin to know quite how it feels
Walking around in the sand on four inch heels
I'll lay around in a vegatative state
And wonder what kind of hairstyle will she have today?
Give me enough and I'll always want more
Check out the wiggle as she walks out the door
She made me feel much better than I ever felt before
CHORUS
LEAD BREAK
BRIDGE
Cable or dish, I don't really care
I just go for bouffant hair
She wears short shorts and earrings that blare
Excuse me a minute while I come up for air
CHORUS
CHORUS

You make some valid points. I'm still not sure.

Ehhhh... Octogenarians aren't really my thing.
As to the mix, i'd bump the lead vox up a bit. They're getting buried, especially at the starts of lines. I might nudge down the bgvox too.

Thanks everyone.
I did some fader rides on the lead vocal. I'll nudge them further.
Armistice - what can I say? You're wrong. You're just wrong.

Hah!
I pulled up some old photos of the actress who played MaryAnn. She was about 25 when the show started but looked 15, which gives this whole debate an entire other level of kinda creepiness!

Ginger was hotter, perhaps, but I preferred MaryAnn with the short shorts and pigtails when I was a kid. Seemed more attainable, perhaps...
NIce work on the tune!

Definitely Ginger.
On the whole the guitars are a bit too loud throughout - this has a mixed by the guitarist sound!
The lead guitar in the centre in the intro is way too loud.
The muted guitar that comes in the right speaker after about a 1:00 is a bit too forward and distracting.
Maybe move it a bit and try and sit it back a bit so it doesn't sound so close, maybe stick an arpeggio on the other side to balance it out.
Ah, the final guitar solo at 3:20... I was so expecting you to key change up then! Do it, that would sound great.

Re: Ginger Was Hotter Than MaryAnn
I missed this entirely ffs.
I think i am going to echo JD here and say that the guitars are really dominating the mix for sure. Could use a bit of adjusting.
Your drums sound really good. I noticed (on my earbuds at work) your toms seem different in some spots. it may just be how you play with them it could be something else but i feel like the the tom roll at 2:27 - 2:29 feels louder fuller and boomer than the one at 3:32-3:35. The latter seems to fit in the space of the rest of the kit a bit better than the former. If that makes sense.
I may send this song off to my dad he may get a kick out of it.
