Hello again. I finished an album.

Post by dross »

hey guys, just thought I’d swing by and post a link to the album in case you’re interested. It should be available on all streaming services some time this week as well—Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Pandora, etc.

There are things I couldn’t really get 100% where I wanted them but overall it’s the best sounding material I’ve done, so I guess I’m moving in the right direction.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to listen. Let me know what you think. I realize it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Is that a piccolo snare?
Interesting stuff - why are the vocals off centre?
Cheers

Not a piccolo, but a 5.5" X 14" titanium tuned fairly high.

Vocals should only be off center when panning more than one part. I may have gone slightly off--5%ish? if there was another guitar melody playing against it as well. If I have 2 rhythm guitars panned equally, drum OHs panned equally, bass/kick/snare center, plus another guitar part while the vocal is active, I feel like keeping the vocal center and the 3rd guitar panned sends things off-kilter. And I don't want to clutter up the center with another guitar plus the vocal. If that makes sense.

No, but I enjoyed listening to it. Nice clean playing, recording and mixing.

Also, I read your bandcamp profile and saw where you're located. Awesome! I lived in the East-side suburbs of Cleveland for a few years (a few years ago), and I always thought NEO was full of pockets of immense creativity, like tide-pools of talent scattered all along the North shore.
awesome youtube comment of the day
Bill and Ted time traveled and brought a bass player from 1973, a drummer from 1984 and a guitar player from 1995. Now they're spreading peace all over the world 🌎

Holy jesus.

This is very well done dross I'll keep an eye out for it on spotify and make sure you get some spins over there.

I am a big fan of quotes as samples in music. Dreamcrusher was pretty bad ass dude. I will definitely listen to some more of this.

Thanks for listening, guys!

SweetDan where exactly were you located? I’m a contractor so I work all over the region. And you’re right, there’s a ton of music being made here. My wife is always going out to local shows. Every now and then she manages to drag me along. :D

WhiskeyJack thank you sir! Here is a Spotify link if you haven’t found it already:
