Hello Folks,
Thanks for your assistance, ears suggestions and persistence with this slow developer.
Thanks heaps Tony for the lyric editing/rework melody & fabulous vocal performance/capture.
Thanks Eric for your part in the solo.

Now that it's finished, let me point out a dozen more ways you could improve it... :D

It's sounding good! Who'd you have master it then?

As I'd used BIAB drums on this track I posted it in the BAIB users forum.
The responses were interesting given the style of music usually posted but I was intrigued that references were made to Iron maiden & Diamond Head influences.
I'd only listened to half an Iron Maiden album as I don't really like any NWOBHM bands - or the sound generally and the only Diamond Head I knew about was Phil Manzanera based.
Tony has covered a Judas Priest song so there may be some of that in what those folk hear but I don't know.
Any thoughts on the potential similarities?

None that I can see. Just sounds like garagey proto-punk to me.

Yeah, not particularly. No gallops. No lyrics about hobbits. Very little Maiden-esque.

I can see someone thinking the chorus has some Maiden vibe to it in the vocals and vocal melody. But as far as the music goes they were much more flashy or technical, especially in their solos. I will take a comparison to Bruce Dickinson though, he has some serious pipes and chops.

Tony, there were LOTS of thumbs up and appreciation for your vocal in BIAB land. Most are singers rather than players.

I hear the Maiden similarity in the chorus. The vocal melody with harmony sounds a little like the "whoa oh oh oh oh" part in "The Trooper". That's all. There's nothing else even remotely Maiden-like about it. Don't sweat it.

Thanks Greg, I don't know enough IM to hear similarities and I figured the guitars were different sounds, style etc.

It's just that one vocal part and it's barely similar at most, don't worry about it.
