On that, I'm making a guitar for a young lad at the moment. He is only 16 but is in quite a decent band and his Dad is commissioning it as a reward for his top school work. Anyway he is doing a school project on guitar wiring and has to do some practical stuff and write it up to about 2000 words. He asked me if I could help him out and I ventured that he make a set op pups under my guidance and install them and then write up how it all went and some stuff on how they work etc... He was over Saturday morning in my workshop and I played him a load of clips from pups I've done and he chose yours as the bench mark. So there will soon be another set of JD MuttBuckers out there in white. He is putting them in a pretty nice old Ibanez mahogany body no frills axe. I will pass on some tones of them when he has it done. He is a pretty good player.
Cool, my pickups are pretty hot, so they'd probably suit a young player with an Ibanez!
Yeh, he didnt so much dial in on the hot he liked the crunch enough but he loved the clarity and punch and the crisp clean.. His band do a lot of self penned brit pop stuff and he recons that will sit well there. Sort of Zutons(esque)...
Just so as everybody knows, I'm not actually moaning authentically - it's all just part of the Bantz. I'd be surprised if my pup had done any better, after all I've submitted hardly any clips of it, whereas Gregs posted loads of his P90s in all sorts of situations. Well deserved, I say.

I'm gonna whip out a fresh cover today with my Mutt90s. I'm gonna try to make it one of my all-in-one-afternoon type mixes, which are usually my favorites. Those usually come out much better than my more planned out works.

That reminds me - I have a cover of Along The Way that I never finished.

That would be brilliant. Can you let me have the dry guitar tones as well as the mix for the reasons mentioned to JD? It really helps me sell to lesser mortals who dont have as refined skillz as you guys. Even if its just a shorter clip of them, it gives people an idea of what they should be listening for.

Here ya go Mutt. An afternoon quicky covering Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers with my Mutt90s and a vintage Marshall.
All of the guitars on this are the SG Special with the Gergalicious Mutt90 in the bridge. The amp is a 1973 Marshall Super Lead 100 into 4x12 cabs.

This sounds great. I'm not really familiar Johnny Thunders, aside from the guitars sounding good, the vocal sounds good too, there's one long held note without a wobble in it at all.
