Re: NEW GEAR!!
LOL, Boob. You certainly love your pedals!
I've ordered a Bare Knuckle pickup today, and I have a chance to get an HB-shaped hand-wound P90 for the neck position at a Very Good Price if everything goes to plan.

Cool, Bob.
My shopping list is long and depressingly expensive.
New Bass, about 300 quid
Pair of monitors, around 250 quid
New humbucker, 70 quid
2x12 cab, 200 quid
V30, 70 quid
Strat parts, 50-100 quid
Telecaster, 500 quid.
Bugger.

Re: NEW GEAR!!
I do have a lot but this is different IMO.
It's an expression pedal so it can be used with a lot of my other pedals and even my keyboard.
Also, I do a LOT of faux pedal-steel and have always wanted a volume pedal so I wouldn't have to be riding the gits' volume knob.
Happily I have almost everything there is to have so my purchases are tending to be smaller more utilitarian things or stuff that wears out.
Not as much money needed thank god.
Pro Tip:
Keep whatever you get .... then when you're my age you'll have tons of stuff.

I had a friend tell me once, don't sell it .... you'll just spend the money then you won't have anything!

I get you. Presumably it has an awesome action? Have you tried one out?Lt. Bob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2017 4:24 pmI do have a lot but this is different IMO.

Re: NEW GEAR!!
Why do you need a new humbucker? Are you HSSing the strat? There are more sounds than humbucking sounds, y'know!

You can get a pair of Yamaha HS5s for £250 if you shop around. A little light in the bass, but extremely detailed in the mids/highs.

Re: NEW GEAR!!
The humbucker is actually for my ibanez. But then the bridge pickup from the ibanez will be used to HHS the strat. I'm just gonna get the cheapest pots, switches, middle and neck pickups that aren't utter shit... Then I'm gonna attempt to re-fret.
Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
Yeah, the Yamaha ones bubba mentioned. They have the best reviews for budget monitors. The keyboardist/backing singer in the last band had a pair too and she's a professional composer. I don't suppose any of her stuff gets mixed or even played by her in the end, but I'd assume she'd have something half decent.
Re: NEW GEAR!!
That's good advice actually. I have a bit of a tendency to just give stuff away when I don't need it.Lt. Bob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2017 4:24 pm I do have a lot but this is different IMO.

Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
My obscene GAS of the last couple of years has been abruptly curbed with the upcoming move to a much more expensive area. I still have a wish list a mile long...
Now the entire wish list has been replaced with building materials and labor for a new studio!

Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
I'm not GASsing for anything at the moment. I'm good, and it's good. Of course I need some odds and ends, but it's nothing that's consuming my life like GAS tends to do.
My short list of things I'd want if the opportunity arose:
Double-cut Les Paul Jr TV Yellow
That's it. I said it was a short list.

That's a great deal on combi volume/expression pedal!
If I didn't have a couple of each type...I would grab one of these for $60.

AFA buying anything at this time....well, I kinda shot my load before and during the holidays, so right now I'm just window shopping, but not really looking for anything.
Re: NEW GEAR!!
Kidneys - you have more than you need. Just sayin'...

Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
LOL - given what I spent last week, this week I'm aspiring only to some new 1 and 2 foot cables so I can run a couple of stereo FX pedals in series into the interface ...
Hmmm... I can order 6 x 1 ft and 6 x 2ft for $26 including shipping, or I can get a single Mogami 1 ft for $69.
Decisions, decisions...

Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
Not much on my list that is music related really, just some more pads/cymbals/hardware for my e-kit...I've had good luck so far buying used for my e-kit, so I'll continue to do so for a while...
I already ordered a 3-zone ride cymbal, rack tubes, & some connectors/mounts to expand my kit a little...This will be here in a couple more days...
The list off the top of my head (for now):
1): Rack hardware (tubes/cymbal stands/connectors/mounts...this stuff is as important as the cymbals pads themselves IMO, because expanding my kit is totally dependent on how/where I'm able to mount everything)
2): Good/better 1/4" TS/TRS cables with 90°plugs (the cables that came with my e-kit are about the size of headphone cables that I know won't last forever)
3): A good drum throne
4): 3-zone snare
5): 2-zone cymbals (probably a couple, that are "choke-able")
6): A couple/few small, cheap drum pads to turn into a cowbell/woodblock/whatever
A new (to me) house is the biggie right now, & while it is a whopper, hopefully before too much longer it'll happen...I did get some news a week or two ago that things are moving along, they're slow, but they are moving...After that finally happens, & I'm able to make some noise again, there'll be a bunch of things on my list, like a 50w, EL34 based amp...Right now, it wouldn't be practical to buy anything of the sort, as it just wouldn't get used the way it should be...
Keep your fingers crossed for me guys, & hopefully, I'll be back in the sticks where I can make some noise, where I belong...
