The vocal is very sibilant. There's also this weird effect, on some of the plosives it feels like just the kick being pulled off to one side. That's not a criticism - just a bit of weirdness. I really like the kick sound.
Like the guitar solo! It sounds good and really suits the piece.
Yeah all my recent recordings are having all kinds of issues with the vocals...I think maybe its just me

my voice has a built-in natural boost at 7k....I have tried all kinds of eq attempts on it and I just can't seem to tame it. The link at the top plays my newest and probably last attempt at a mix on this. Thanks for the listen and the good word on the guitar solo, that was fun to play for sure!

The vocals are surprisingly clear for how affected they are. Did you want them fully decipherable?
I like the low-fi drum tone, but I could see taking a little harshness of the hats.
Bass tone is cool.
generation/karen/caring is a pretty weak rhyme set.
Thanks VHS, yes I would like them decipherable if possible, my delivery may be causing issues I suppose? Hahaha yeah that Karen caring thing is pretty weak, been trying to work on my writing, ongoing process for me . I did try and tame the hi hats a bit in my new/last mix. Thanks for listening!

I really like the bass tone a lot ..... cool tunage ..... I like it and the 'spoken word' style works well for this.
Cool, thanks Lt.Bob , I love playing he bass so cool to hear you liked the tone!

Listening on my regular system.
The only thing I'd add to what I originally said would be maybe raise the kick level? Or a give it a low end boost? A bit low end would work well I think.
It's a really cool song.
Hey TripleM , took your advice on both your post , tried to eq the cymbals and lead guitar, also raised the kick a bit and the over all low end. The original post plays the new mix. Thanks as always !

Did you hire Les Claypool to sit in on this?
Cool jam man. I think the spoken word thing works. I wouldn't change that ingredient at all. It's really treated and i think maybe some of the effects are piling up on plosives and the initial sibilance. I feel like it might be worth trying to find those and clean them up a bit.
Cool jam man.
Big fan of all things Claypool, so cool you get that vibe! As far as vocals, I recorded one mono take, then copied it to 2 other tracks, for a total of three tracks of vocals. 2 of them are panned maybe 20% left and right respectively, both with the same eq, a bit of a wide Q notch at 7500k, which seemed to tame the sss a bit. the 3rd track has same EQ, and also a weird delay plug in called "hearing voices" all 3 tracks have a bit of compression on them as well. Thanks for you listen and feedback!
Here is another link for the song iif you dont want to go back to OP
