Not audio/recording related, not mine, but awesome DIY electronics thing

Post by SweetDan »

So, you watch a few electronics-related videos on youtube and the algorithm will start recommending you some interesting things....

Like this, for example:

The pretty visuals start about 16:40, but if you are curious how a soldering madman (that person had to be to finish that cube!) got everything in alignment and created the "sculpture" (for lack of a better word), watch the whole thing.

:)
awesome youtube comment of the day
Lol it's still less satanic than whatever rituals Katie Perry and Taylor Swift do in their performances. 😂

I freakin' LOVE any even remotely psychedelic lighting stuff.

I have like, half a dozen lava lamps ... including an 'El Lava Grande' ... a 3 foot tall behemoth ..... uses a 100 watt bulb and takes many hours to get going..
I have pricy light sculptures we bought back when we had money and shopped museums and art shows ..... that's how much I like lights ...... they were appropriate for Xmas and birthday gifts.

I have the large plasma disc like 7 of 9 has over her regeneration pod ..... I have laser lights and color morphing lights and lots of ball lights like 3D printed moons and such.
I may have to build one of these because it's pretty large so I want it

I'm wanting to build a color organ like I had in college

LOL ..... Tadpui's building me a puter and he was concerned I wouldn't want anything gaudy!

Hell .... gaudy is ME!! ....... I'm getting ready to spend 500 bucks to get an artist to do a black light painted guitar body for me.

I love colors and lights ..... just love them ..... can't have too many.

I buy those LED color strips and put them on the back of wall-hangings.
Our house is awash in colors at night ...... looks like 'Spencer's Gifts' or 'Glow'.

That thing doesn't belong in a corner...it should be centre on the room surrounded by bean bags and mirrored walls.

This is REALLY old school hypnotic...
My most recent video JLMK has three different psych backgrounds green screened into the thing...maybe four.

Fascinating. While it isn't really something i could see myself ever wanting. I can 100% respect the craftsmanship and dilligence it would take to create something like that. Very impressive.

The only difference between this and audio gear is if you could control it with MIDI, right? :D

That could be a very cool stage prop if you could get it positioned right and safely.
