guitar dress up

Post by liv_rong »

Swapped out the creme stuff for black. I forgot about the pickup selector tip, so gotta order that yet.

I think it looks better with the black...I've thought about doing the same to my LP, the plastic on mine is butterscotch & would look better with anything else IMO...I lost my p'up selector cap like 2 years ago but have never bothered to replace it yet...

Looks good dude...

I don't know. I reckon I prefer the cream with a gold top. Change it back immediately... :lollers:

Yeah...I like the cream with the gold top too. I think those combinations blend better.
Black makes it a bit too stark looking....but, if that's what you are going for...it's really up to you, your guitar. :)

I think I prefer the black, but most importantly take that fucking pickguard off!

Your guitar. I don't care. You like it, that's all that matters.
:D
What always gets me are these 'approval' threads. That's what they are. "Here's what I did, what do you all think, do you approve? "

I'm waiting for someone to post pics of their shoes.

"I'm gonna wear these chucks to the gig tonight, waddya think" lol :D

You do not understand Les Pauls at all.

I like the black okay, but I like the cream better.

But whatever, it's yours, if you like it that's all that matters.

I prefer it. But maybe in a couple years I'll go back, who knows. But the best part about taking the pick guard off an LP is the hole is leaves on the top or the useless screw that stays installed.

If both of your pups were creme covered...it would work better with the black surrounds and pickguard...IMO.
It's like the one black coil melts into the surround...just looks odd to me...but then I never much cared for that two-color pups anyway. :)

The Joe Bonermaster Goldtop looks like that, but with chrome humbuckers..

I like that better with the metal covers.

I tend to prefer the chrome or nickle covers instead of uncovered.
I've got one set of uncovered cream colored pups (DiMarzio SDs from the '70s), on just one guitar...the rest of my pickups are all chrome or nickle covered on my guitars. I've gotten a few guitars that came with uncovered pups...and I put covers on them. :)

Cream. i'd have left it as is.

Also don't ever let someone who plays PRS tell you what to do or not do about making a guitar look badass. You'll likely end up with something like this,
