PRS - Soapbar: New Guitar Day

Post by JD01 »

What you think of this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112317526357?ul_noapp=true
I was gonna bid 200 quid on it and see what happens.

Already past that! :D

My old Subaru Impreza is up for sale on ebay. Sold it about three years ago to buy Stan the Van. I have pangs.

Just got it! 200 quid. My mrs is gonna fucking kill me. I promised her I'd get shot of the Washburn before anything else turned up.

I just really want a guitar with P90s and this is the cheapest way I could think of to try it out on a half decent guitar!

haha, yeah. I bid 209.78, i find you always have more luck when you bid over a round number by a random amount.

Can't believe I've just bought another fucking guitar - really don't need one.

You have it bad.

I'm no better, I'm going to build another. :headwall: That said, I use ALL my guitars. My Jag gets plenty of recorded outings, if no gigs at all.

There is a vague method to the madness. I've been lusting after a LP Jr or or LP Special doublecut. But they're generally between 700 and 1000 for the early 2000s re-issues. I want to make sure that I get on with P90s first and I can probably sell this PRS for what I got it for.

I actually only use my Custom. I did start trying to use the Washburn and Ibanez for a while but just wasn't that bothered and went back to just using the custom on everything and using a slightly different mic blend or mic position to add variation between takes.

Is it real? There are bucketloads of fake PRSs out there. Good score if so.

See you on the PRS owners Facebook group then!

I checked off all the serial numbers which is all you can do and it's only an SE and not a very nice looking one which is why it was cheap I suppose. I imagine your usual PRS buyer likes humbuckers too.

I wouldn't have a PRS as a gift. Not my thing at all.

Bob, you should play a gig using a Warlock.that would be quite funny.

I don't like the ones that are overly pointy - and I include classic Gibsons like the Flying V in that description - but I like lots of others. I'm not fond of guitars that are just copies of other guitar styles - so the PRS models that ape Les Pauls and Strats are just pointless to me, but I do like their more original lines. I don't like Floyd Roses. No problem at all with guitar finishes that feature beautiful wood and interesting stain treatments - up to a point - so long as I like the underlying guitar.

My PRS should be arriving on Tuesday, it's a proper basis one. Flat top, no maple cap, no fucking birds on the fretboard. Should be quite nice.

rhat would be funny!

But you'd be surprised ..... I sometimes use my Zak Wilde, which I would think older folks would find weird, and I get all sort of comments on 'what a pretty guitar'!

But I'ma see if any of my friends own a pointy ax and use it at a restaurant gig and see what happens!
