man, I like this a lot!
The guitar parts backing and supporting the vox are great ..... has anyone told you you sound like Zappa?
To my ears these vocals sound a LOT like Zappa.
And the harmonies are perfect ..... not too much .... just right.
Great song structure .... great guitar parts .... great vocals ..... great groove .... this is a great recording of a bad ass song.
really Really nice man ..... I'm blown away basically
Thanks Lt. I'm a bit each way on this one myself, with the vocal - I think my voice sounds better a touch higher but I don't that much range and this tune had to be played where it had to be played - could have capo'd I guess, but don't think that would have sounded as good down low.
Never been told Zappa before though. I get Ian Anderson a bit and various others. Never Axl Rose though, wonder why that is... ?
Great tune & mix Armi...I don't really have any nits because anything I'd mention would be personal preference anyway...That said, if I changed anything at all, I'd give the guitars a bit more high end, to let the "twang" come through a bit more, but again, that's just me...
I think this sounds great, Armistice. You seem to be getting to grips with the guitars being too thick - these work really well. A consequence of your (previously) muddy guitars used to be a tendency to brighten the snare too much to make it cut through. Not any more, the drum EQ sounds perfectly balanced with the rest of the track, to me. I remember this riff from when you posted in the Tone thread after getting your new Tele - amirite?

Thanks Bubba - yeah, I'm getting closer to a good sound at the start, not having so many guitars, and then scooping out some of the lower mids if it seems too dense - taking some off the bass there as well generally. Seems to have worked. I may well have posted that riff in the Tone thread - it was one of two things I developed when I got the tele.
