liv_rong's idea/tone thread
Re: liv_rong's idea/tone thread
Idea from a day. Recorded a few weeks back to see how this riff flowed and "mixed" just now, laaaaaiiiiidddddddddd back all around. Just an sm57 in front of the amp, some delay and reverb and recorded to no click on looper pedal. Then recorded drums in the room over it, typical liv_rong behavior with an amp blaring as I track the drums. BUT, besides diggin' on the riff, I am enjoying the sounds of just hitting record. Maybe its because I haven't been doing shit for a few years and now I feel fulfilled doing stuff again, but I feel like I am getting ok sounds without even trying. Except my snare lol.

man ...... I remember always liking your musical musings. At one time I had a bunch of them I was gonna fool with .... just never did.
This is interesting and the sounds are good .... I particularly like the snare .... really fat sounding ..... everything sounds good but that's the one that stood out immediately to me

Very cool very liv rong-esque sounds. If that is just your out of the box walk in and sit down hit record sound there isn't anything terrible about it. I listened iin my car. It stands up. Some timing stuff but if you are just raw dogging wongo time signatures with out a click or whatever its good stuff dude. Better than any other demo quality I have heard in my day.
Your snare is also very distinctly you. Its not a bad sound as it applies to you. Its the liv vibe snare mode.

I just came up with this rifts which I admire. Drop C and amp only 1/3 up. I love this time I am getting for once in my life.

There’s a percussive sound to that if you tune in on it. That’s super cool. Wonder how that would sound in a mix. Maybe not desirable if it’s busy, but on its own it’s awesome.
“Naaaaaaaaaah man. I ain’t touching that mic. That thing’s expensive!”

Still in drop c but no gain and a lot of reverb. This is guitar loop on amp and playing drums over it in the room with microphones just fucking around.
