You Were The Walrus

Post by stratmonkee »

A temporary name for this...started out wanting to get a leslie Beatles type sound/patch set up on my new Pod Go...also have a new pedal called a Attack/Decay by EHX which is cool to make reverse delay, pedal steel and other weird sounds...ended up making this song after fiddling with settings on both new gear... another one maybe for vocals down the road...anyways thought ant crits much appreciated....

That was a nice psych piece...enjoyed. That's supposedly a non top line piece of kit but beginning at approx AUS$900 I assume POD GO's big brothers cost a house.
Cheers

Nothing's really leaping out at me from it. Seems fine.

Thanks Lt.Bob! yes , that pedal is really cool...for me...its been a little tricky to get the vibe on how to use it, definitely very reactive to playing/picking style, and many different, modes /sounds ...thanks for listening!

Interesting stuff man. It's a really tasteful use of some of those effects. I can't hear anything glaring mix wise. good job there Stratmonkee.

I thought this sounded good. Interesting piece of music.

To get nitpicky, the snare has a bit of an abrasive high end. Maybe pull that down a little bit.

Everything else sounded good to me.

Loved it, very relaxing. Yet another walk down memory lane for me. :) Thanks for the info on that effect, I'd love to try it on some of my cello lines. . .
If I knew what I was doing, I'd be dangerous!

So, before putting this one out to pasture, I have recently picked up a pedal called a Mel 9 by electro harmonix, supposed to be like a mellotron simulator. I tried out the cello setting on this one and added "cello" bits thru out...trying to think like a cello player and adjust my picking dynamics to simulate bowed instrument was pretty fun and challenging...here is the finished result on this song, thanks again for all the feedback/listens.
