GF has a Peugeot. Small petrol convertible. Rubbish car - I can't stand it. Turning circle of a bus and slow as a wet week. It's 6 + years old now and she's done all of about 15,000 km on it because if we're going somewhere together, then I'm usually driving, and if I'm driving, I want to be driving my car. So apart from that it goes to the shops and that's about it. :lollers:

When we move to Queensland I've told her it has to go and she'll be buying a mid size SUV...

SUV! Why?
Being a sports utility vehicle I assume it's to carry your boogie board over the dunes and to the water's edge.

Something like that... more likely kayaks. But we'll be needing a beater run around that can be used to transport stuff here there and everywhere... two small convertibles probably won't work so well. I'll keep mine for now, and when it's time for a new car, we'll revisit what the needs are.

She'll probably drive my car generally, and I'll drive the SUV... but she has to buy it!

I just got this stuff.

The shortie mic stand because I have one but need another so I can just leave one in the truck all the time.
The CD-recorder because one of mine is getting glitchy and it was a good deal AND it does some cool stuff like letting you change the key a song is playing back in.

And the Cockfight because I don't have a good wah and you can use it with an expression pedal .... and you can just use it for the 'cocked-wah' sound without a pedal.
It sounds freakin' great!

Yes, the cocked wah of the Cock Fight is pretty cool. I have a DVD player, bought in the late 90s that allows pitch shift of music playback - really clean and easily...I used it at school for teaching cool songs in kid's keys. I still have my 1st CD burner and HUGE external unit...it changed my world. Nostalgia means I keep it...it wasn't broken just superseded.

I used it tonight and thought it was awesome on the vocal setting ..... I wasn't using an expression pedal but I will.
It's gonna be an awesome wah but you don't have to ..... it's awesome even just setting it and using it on one sound.

Hey guys, long time no see! Just started a new job, and now I have time for music again. I bought two pedals to complete my guitar rig: an Effectrode Tube Vibe, and an Xotic Effects wah. They just got here, haven't even plugged them in yet. I'm super excited about the Tube Vibe. I wanted it last year when I was setting up my guitar rig, but I was not prepared to spend the money on it (I got an Electro-Harmonix Good Vibes instead). It is the most expensive pedal I've ever bought, not even close. But it is, hands down, the best-sounding vibe pedal I've ever heard. As much as I love the tried-and-true classic vibe sound, at the same time it's always had kind of a plastic sound to me. Like it's a toy or something. I don't know, that's the best way I know how to describe what I hear. But with this pedal, which uses tubes (which are easily swappable) instead of transistors, I finally hear the perfect vibe effect I've always dreamed of. At least that's what I heard in all the demos I've checked out. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out.

I'm looking at wahs. I wouldn't mind a review/tones from that.

I will post audio of both pedals. I hooked up the Tube Vibe last night and I was instantly in love. It's everything I hoped it would be.

Haven't plugged in the wah yet. I'll do that soon, and report back.

just ordered these:
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... headphones

I have a couple of Sennheisers ..... HD-580 and HD650 .... they're both open back.
i just wanted a closed back pair so I ordered them.

I also got these .... just arrived .... haven't unpacked them yet ..... some delay caused by 41800 emergency surgery for dog and subsequent taking care of and obsessing over ..... but I'll get 'em set up next week.

I am teetering very close to buying an Ampeg V4. The price is right, i know the owner, it's been babied and well taken care of. Way more amp than i'd ever need and i likely won't ever use it all that much, but still a cool amp to have. Especially for the price.

The transportation and getting it to me might be the deal killer. Not sure he is interested in shipping it to me. And i am not interested in driving for 8 hours to pick it up. We shall see. Currently at a stalemate.

hold on.

You have a dog? Why am i just hearing about this now? We are largely dog folk in here. I feel like a shit head if this is the first time i have heard or commented on it?

Hope the surgery went well and things are good?

Oh and i hope those speakers sound good.

I have a very nice V-2 you could have ..... half the power .... maybe more usable.
I even have a spare set of power tubes.
But getting it to ya' in Canada .... is that hard?

And thanks .... the dog is non-dead $1800 later. :D
We've pretty much always had dogs ..... cats are kinda new to us but I guess not really since we've had one in the house ( now 3 ) for at least 10 years now.
I like animals in general being one myself.

And the Beyerdynamic headphones are awesomely detailed and have an amazing bottom end ..... for mixing they'll be great.

The speakers .... well .... set them up in my music room and they sounded definitely 'meh' ..... but they are designed for desktop use so i don't think I can be sure until I use them that way.
My first impressions are that they're way hyped, Bose-ish hi-fi sounding but it's not fair to really judge until they're set up for the 'puter.

My Sennheiser 515s started to die a couple of weeks ago. I've had them for ages and they've had new cushions, gaffer taped near a hinge, but they're solid I comfy so well worth maintaining. They seem to have dropped to a weak mono....I suspect they've been dropped by an anonymous householder.
Oddly my Focusrite tracking headphones had a speaker dislodged a week later...that was an easy fix. I hope the Senns will be too.
How are the desktop speakers working out now you've had a fortnight with them?

I FINALLY GOT MY STIMULUS. Not sure if I’ll buy any gear, though. Maybe a hardware EQ for set dressing and the fact it’s fun to play with outboard gear.
“Naaaaaaaaaah man. I ain’t touching that mic. That thing’s expensive!”

they spent that time comfy in their unopened box! lol

I only just took them out of the box Monday where I proceeded to immediately drop and break one of the satellite speakers. I fixed it after 3 or 4 hours of work.
I set them up to make sure they work properly but have not put them in an actual desktop setting yet and it could be a few weeks before I do.
They sounded like they needed to be on a desk top

I turned down the V4. things were getting a tad silly with respect to getting it from point A to Point B. I suspect maybe buddy didn't really want to part with it.

The V2 is just a smaller version of the 100W one hey? Same circuits and stuff? they are mostly a clean style amp? Is there enough headroom on those to get some overdrive out if it with the help of some boost and overdrive pedals? Honestly i only know of V4's via the band the misfits. The fanboy in me really wanted one to crank out some old misfits songs as over the years i have half assed been working on covering their entire first album. But i don't think i could ever come close to their garbage punk sound even with a V4 as i believe they recorded it in a shitty sound stage somewhere. I digress.

Glad to hear your pup is in good working order. Our redbone costs about that every year in vetbills too. He is a happy dog but i curse the previous owner who mistreated him and surrendered him in the health and shape he was in. bastards. I feel the vet bill pain though. :yeabuddy:
