Their songs about surfing always felt vapid and pointless to me. (I own a copy of Breathe; I do not like my copy of Breathe!)

That cover is really good tho.

This was when they were ace...they were still a north shore surf band and quite good at making a big noise in small venues:
That is a good one. ray.

After I went digging for more of them yesterday i had no idea how HUGE their library is. I have been a bit of a vinyl buying spree lately and thought i'd grab some of theirs as i have none and wow. Way more than just what I was familiar with!! I'll be listening to them a bit the next few days and try to zero on some must haves.

What's wrong with it?

And yea it is pretty awesome. I love that band. When all my favorite bands were either breaking up or going on hiatus and doing the folky acoustic punky stuff that guy did too but then each record he put out after that got progressively more rock and roll / punky. There is a new one about to drop here next week I think? I couldn't be more stoked.

I just don't much like the album. The songs aren't as catchy, and they're trying to be just as dramatic as ever while singing about surfing or whatever.

This has a little less treatment on the vocal and a LOT of distortion on the lead guitar.

I think I might prefer the guits in the first mix. The buzzy piercing isn't really doing it for me.

I agree @vomitHatSteve, but I did the mix to demonstrate to the collaborators how it certainly could be more metal.
