Low End
Low End
Can you have a quick listen to these two 10s clips and see if you a) you can see a significant difference in the low end and b) tell me what you think sounds better.
My reference cans are a bit thin to really hear it and I'm not in a position to crank my monitors right now.
Having the site player so I can easily listen to the exact same section of the two clicks back to back immediately I think I just about prefer the fatter one.

Re: Low End
I prefer the fatter one ...... the difference is subtle but there
Re: Low End
I'm generally not a fan of "fat" low end in rock songs and I prefer the lighter tighter one.

Re: Low End
I'm unsure. I sent the mix to a mate of mine who's a pretty good producer (and I fucking amazing guitarist).
He suggested it I put a +2db shelf on the master buss at 100hz. I'd never heard of anyone doing that before. So I thought I'd give it a go.
I don't dislike it. But I want to hear it on other systems. Master Buss EQ is something that I'm only just starting to get into really. Up to now I've just used it for notching out problems.

Re: Low End
I'm not hearing a difference in my cans (via phone)
Re: Low End
Another vote for "Fatter Version.mp3". Not a huge difference between them, though.
awesome youtube comment of the day
Bill and Ted time traveled and brought a bass player from 1973, a drummer from 1984 and a guitar player from 1995. Now they're spreading peace all over the world

Re: Low End
They're pretty close. But I like the Standard one a little better. It seems as though I like less low end these past few years.
