Awesome! Thank you! I'll get to work on it this weekend. Thanks so much for adding the guitar part, I really appreciate it, you did a great job.JD01 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 11:05 am OK - listening properly on reference cans now.
I think the guitars are fine hard panned as they are.
My guitar is a bit too dry and a touch loud on the left like that - add a hint more reverb and turn it down a tiny bit.
Solo the left and right guitars so you're just listening to the two of them - this will help you get them in balance a bit better.
I think it would be better if the sax was slightly panned to the right instead of the left 'cos the right guitar is doing a bit less. Sax parts sound ace to me! Got a lot of verb on it, but its cool.

If I knew what I was doing, I'd be dangerous!

Your guitar playing was fine, a bit loose in places, but that didn't really matter too much for a song of this type. Was just quite dark/muddy. Next time you're recording any parts like that and you're struggling with it, post up the tracks in The Tone Thread to get some advice on how to improve it.Alison wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 11:49 amAwesome! Part of it is that you'll be surprised just how bright a guitar sound you can get away with in a mix when you have a bass and drums in there to fill out the bottom end.
