I used to live in Valparaiso, then I moved to Kouts. It's a little town with 1 traffic light ,where everyone smiles and waves at you even if you're a complete stranger.

I lived in Portage from 3rd grade until I was a sophmore in high school(90ish-97). I dont know where you live now lol.
Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
Kouts is about 10 miles south of Valpo down hwy 49. I've played a few gigs at dive bars in Portage over the years.

I also got these replacement ear pads for my AKG K240 headphones. They blow away the nasty hard vinyl stock pads.

Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
Yeah, I'm a bit of a headphone guy ..... those look comfy!
Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
ocnor man those are like hemorrhoid donuts, but for your ears! They look super comfy.
I've been having major gear lust itches lately, but I think it's mostly because I know that I can't afford to go spending money on frivolous studio toys since I'm on a considerably reduced income for the time being. But damn, a 4-channel preamp from Warm Audio or API has been on my mind lately for drum tracking. And a new lavalier mic. And a couple of new compressor plugins. and...and...ugh, the wanting comes in waves.

If nothing happens between now & Friday, I'm gonna pull the trigger on this:
The fx loop in my Chupacabra is garbage guys, & I realize I should've gotten Nik to put a better loop in the amp while it was being built, but hindsight is 20/20...Hopefully this will cure the problem I'm having using fx in the loop of my amp...I almost ordered a Metro loop to install, but I honestly didn't wanna screw my amp up, & was concerned it would lose the "mojo" it has now...
It'll take at least a week to arrive, as it has to be built, then shipped, but I'm pretty hopeful this will fix the problem I'm having....
And, I'm trying to sell my Mini Marshall amps...While they both sound great, I'm playing in an old-school type rock band, & I need more headroom....I already know the Mini Jubilee won't cut it for a gig, it does ok for practice, but I realize it would never keep up when we get the chance to get loud...The Mini 800 might, but I'm doubtful about it...So if I can flip the 2 little Marshalls, I plan on buying the super-strat I mentioned a while back, some more effects (possibly a multi-fx unit), & another EVH 4x12...
Here's the guitar I have picked out:
I realize this is probably a bad time to try to sell gear, but if any of you guys are interested, hit me up, I'll do my best to cut you a deal on either amp...If you were to take both at once, I'd cut an even better deal for you guys...
And if I can't sell the Mini Marshall amps, eventually I'll be able to buy this stuff anyway, so it's a win/win either way, the way I see it....
So I'm going all-in playing in the band dudes...I never thought this would happen, but here I am...There are a lot of weird coincidences that have happened in the last couple months since I met these guys....Just makes me wonder about things, you know???

Good luck man, I hope it works out well.
Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
So what are you trying to run in the fX loop that requires a buffer?Minerman wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 2:03 pm If nothing happens between now & Friday, I'm gonna pull the trigger on this:

Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
Pedals dude, I've tried my TC Electronic Vibe, MXR Phaser, even tried a couple Boss pedals the other guitar player has to no avail...It's just a crappy loop, & the pedal will do pretty much what the Metro buffered loop would've done had I gone that route...This will probably be even better because I can adjust the return/send levels how I want/need...
I plan on buying more fx before long anyway, so I gotta get this taken care of first...
When I use the loop as-is, it sounds like a blanket over the speakers man, it's the loop, I've read about other people having the same issue with the stock loop in these amps...
I should've spent the extra $$$, & had Nik put a better loop in while it was being built, but hindsight it 20/20...

I'd just install something like this. https://www.mojotone.com/amp-parts/Mojo ... Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
Minerman glad you found some people to play with, man! I dont see much of you around here nowadays, swing by more often!
Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
Thanks Liv, I’ll hang around more dude I try to stay busy instead of sitting around so much but I’ll make an effort for you guys...
I was gonna do that but I’m too much of a noob & was afraid I’d fuck my amp up. The buffer pedal is basically the same thing it’s just external.ocnor wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 7:26 pm I'd just install something like this. https://www.mojotone.com/amp-parts/Mojo ... Amplifiers

Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
I didn't really buy these but I helped my buddy out covering a gig for him and rather than pay me I asked if I could keep a Telefunken M80 he let me try. He hated the mic so I asked for it. He agreed and then asked me if I wanted another, which I of course accepted. So I got $500 worth of mics that didn't cost him or me a penny. The gig I covered him for consisted of turning on a light, adjusting the house music and pressing play on a DVD player (they were watching Jurassic Park on screen at a music venue). After about 10 minutes of the movie, I went to my buddy's shop and we drank beer and talked about lots of shit. I'd say everyone made out well!
Re: NEW GEAR!! Buying anything?
Dang Bill L I'd say that you made out great in that deal! Let us know how the new mics work out. I know next to nothing about handheld mics, but those seem really nice at first glance on Sweetwater.
I do actually have some new gear coming. A while back I placed an order at Sweetwater for a nice new mic stand (K&M "extra tall") and holy crap, that thing is a beast of a stand. It's a tripod, but it's weighted. And just the base extends up to 6' tall, and the boom arm is something like 42". Perfect for drum overheads, and a great break from the crappy Musician's Gear and On-Stage stands that I have.
As part of that order, I also put in for an SSL 2+ audio interface to review on my YT channel. It was backordered for months, and it finally arrived yesterday. I'm looking forward to playing with it, since it's in such high demand.
And finally I'm doing some computer upgrades yet again. I'm finally ditching the rackmount server chassis and moving to a be quiet! Pure Base 500DX chassis. And my power supply has been on the fritz lately so I got a beefy 850W PSU from Thermaltake. And since no modern mid-tower chassis that I could find can hold all of my various HDDs, I'm consolidating to a single Samsung QVO 4TB SSD. That's a big honkin' SSD and it cost a pretty penny. But I'll be left with a streamlined and very attractive desktop system to house my beastly audio/video/gaming computer.
It'll be an interesting week as I get this stuff assembled.
