Disaffected Alt Rock Bass Girl - but completely different this time
So that song I posted a week ago? I'm doing an EP of just that one with a bunch of different guest vocalists and alternate arrangements.
So, of course, I need tons of feedback on how to get these alternate instrumentations to sound good.
Mix 1: Mix 2: Mix3: Uncompressed version: http://test.regdarandthefighters.com/tr ... tVers.flac
Unmastered version: http://test.regdarandthefighters.com/tr ... aster.flac

If it were me, I'd take a bunch of reverb off the girl's voice. The semi-telephone voice is good. Just too much verb.
I thought the kick and bass synth were too heavy.
I thought the harmony vocals were a little dry. The lead vocal was a little loud. Maybe notch it out in the mid-2Ks.
I loved the synth on the right during the chorus.

The verb on her voice is as she tracked it, so I'll have to live with it, but I'll glance at the other changes.

I think the heavy low end came largely from the mastering chain, so I've backed off on that.
I'm mulling over more delay on the bgvox. I'll probably add it at some point.

No worries. It's the same song name, so it's easy to miss.

Mix 2: only needs a little de-essing.
Sounds like Sig Sig Sputnik with a little less bombast.

Mix #2 - the low end is a big improvement. It sounds great. The whole mix is cleaner.
The lead vocal might be just a bit loud in the verses?
"This dress actually polishes my bass while I play it." Funny.

Thanks folks. I should have some time to revisit it tonight.
Re: Disaffected Alt Rock Bass Girl - but completely different this time
I think the sample of the girl talking is too loud and has too much reverb on it.
When all your weird keyboard arpeggios they're crazy trebly - can you make them a bit warmer and less intense on the ear? Its not so bad when they're on their own towards the end of the song - but they clash with your voice in quite harsh way

Final mix in the OP.
Unfortunately, JD, two of the overriding artistic decisions in this were:
randomized synth was built according to the whims of the audience who watched me sequence it. It's gotta be a sawtooth and a 30% detuned square wave
and
I don't get to provide notes to the women who do guest vocals unless absolutely necessary. She provided that 'verb, so it stays!

I like it - the fem vox remind me of tannoy announcements and such.
