They're close though. I suppose that could just be the cost of shipping it over there? I have no idea what it would cost to ship an acoustic guitar from Memphis to Australia. 150 might seem about right? Maybe?

Hop on your Schwinn & head on over there man...Greg_L wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 8:58 am My motherfucking guitar is literally within a few miles of me at a FedEx hub and my scheduled delivery is tomorrow? WTF.
And I don't mean literally in the millennial-speak sense where people say "literalleeeee" when they acctually mean it figuratively. I mean literally literally. It's literally a few miles away. I could ride a bike to the big ass mega FedEx hub in Cypress, Tx.
The original delivery date was Saturday by end of day. I knew that wasn't going to happen. It was coming from California and was only in Arizona by Friday. No way it was getting here on Saturday.Minerman wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 8:37 pm

I feel your pain though dude, when I'm waiting on FedEx, & it says "by the end of the day", that literally means 7 or 8 pm here...
Hang in there, I think you can manage just one more day...That only makes what, 3 SG's you'll have now???![]()
I'll take some today when I take it apart. I'm very curious to see what's under the batwing. I also need to clean/touch up the output jack. It's a little loose and scratchy. One little surprise is it's got coil splits. Didn't know about that from the listing. It wouldn't have changed my mind but it's an interesting surprise. So I'll break it down today and give it a freshening up and snap some pics. Mostly I just want to clean it. It's in really great shape, but I hate the thought of touching all over someone else's DNA. The fretboard is kind of dirty.
Wow, I didn't know they made those more rounded less pointy super strats. Those are much better looking to me. Cool man, I hope it works out for you.Minerman wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 2:58 pm So I've been looking around for another guitar with a Floyd Rose, & I'd love to have the Ibanez I had back in the day:
I'm pretty sure I'll never find the very guitar I had, so I'd settle for something pretty similar...A quick Reverb search came up with these:
'87 Ibanez S540 blue-burst @ Reverb
'89 Ibanez S540 blue @ Reverb
'88 Ibanez S540 black cherry @ Reverb
'89 Ibanez S540 black cherry @ Reverb
While I'd love to have the same color as the guitar I had (black cherry), it also had 3 on/off toggles for each p'up...The p'ups had the usual H-S-S thing, with a coil split for the bridge p'up, but the middle/neck p'ups were actually stacked humbuckers...The trem was an Ibanez licensed Floyd Rose with the "backstop", & once the strings were stretched/locked down, it just would not go out of tune, at all... I'm leaning toward the '87 in blue burst (first link) because of the toggle switches...I did see one in black cherry with the toggles a few months ago, but can't find it again (on Reverb anyway, there might be one on Fleabay, maybe)...
The Ibanez I currently have is ok, but it's very different from the one I had back in the day...The RG's body is pretty thick & square, where the S540's body is really thin & contoured...That was one of the most comfortable guitars I've ever played...
I'm still looking around, & it's still gonna be a while, but the next guitar I buy will most likely be one like this...
Yeah dude, to me, that was a great little guitar...Light as a feather, and all the bells/whistles...IIRC, that guitar cost me around $1200 new in '88...I paid for it with the $$$ I made from playing gigs my senior year in high school...
That looks like a precision piece of kit. Like it does highly formulated math equations and shit. I don't know why, it just seems it has a very scholarly personality.Minerman wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 4:38 pm Here's the "top of the line" Prestige (I think anyway, pretty damn expensive IMO) in the "S" series (the "S" stands for Sabre btw):

Lol...Fuck man, all you guys know I'm gonna get one of those 20w JCM 800's...I just have to wait until the right time...I've wanted an 800 for years & years now, so fuck it...I like the small form of the Mini Jubilee & how it sounds, so I'd say eventually I'll end up with all of those mini heads...
Well Shan, if that's true, & I had that guitar, then I'd be the only guy in the world who's guitar is smarter than he is...WhiskeyJack wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 5:23 pmThat looks like a precision piece of kit. I'm surprised nobody mentioned him yet...That's where the "S"series started...
