Just scooped these up from Guitar Center for their Black Friday sale. All three for $100, not too shabby. I went online first but they didnt have the Nether or Vibraclone in stock and it wouldnt ship right away so I figured Id go to the store and see what they had and they had both. It was the last Nether as well. I dont need more pedals, as you probably know already haha. I went for effects I use less of that I wont keep on my board, more for fun and when I need something different. The fizz sounded pretty good in a demo. Ill check this stuff out a bit today. They are bigger than I thought they would be, almost giant compared to most pedals IMO, the pots seem a little tight, like not super smooth and they have soft switches.

I was just looking at these on the Anderton's site. 30 quid each!

I don't want more cheapo pedals though - I have loads of them.

Part of me is curious about the Mooer Rage Machine though!

That Mooer looks interesting. All of those cheap Chinese pedals always seem like a decent buy but everyone Ive had is disappointing.

Its funny you said you dont want cheap pedals because when you were talking about the Flashback I was thinking how I consider that whole line cheaper pedals haha. Well, not really, more like mid-line by quality and price. Its all in the eye(ears) of the beholder though. I mean if I fell on hard times I could easily go back to an Epiphone, a Blackstar and a few Chinese pedals and get by just fine. Most people cant tell the difference anyways, right? Plus my recording skills dont show off the "better" sounds of the more expensive gear I have. Im really not a snob, I just like nice things, spent the first 15 years of my musical life on cheap stuff, and a lot of cheap stuff. Instead of saving for something a little better Id just buy whatever cheap piece of gear I could afford. Once I started making some more money I decided it was time to get what I wanted, and I do believe it makes a difference. And really, the only reason I have the more "high end" pedals is they do very specific things that I cant get from most other pedals. And Ive been through a TON of pedals of varying quality, price and tone. So I know very well what I want as far as that goes. I dont know what this post was about, I guess self reflection on my pedal problem.

haha, you only have a problem if you can't afford it!

I just don't need Strymons and stuff like that. I just want decent quality stuff that's relatively simple, I'm not into soundscapes or anything like that.
My board is actually quite simple. Tuner>TS>OCD>Chorus>Phaser>FX Send>Mooer Echolizer>HoF>FX Return.

Yeah, those cheapo Chinese things are normally a bit disappointing. I've never really liked the Mooer Echolizer, I've always found it fishtanky.
I also have a Mooer Trelicopter which I've never recorded and only had a few goes with at home. I used to use it for one song playing live a couple of years ago which is why I got it. In fact, that's a good use for cheapo effects, effects that you only need for one bit of one song in a gig.

The ToneCity stuff seems to be slightly better quality. The Summer Orange Phaser is alright, a bit bright and I do want to replace it, but enjoyable. And the ToneCity Dry Martini is a pretty decent clone of an OCD.

I've only really started buying decent gear in the last few years and it does make a difference... partly 'cos you're not fighting with shit gear... and partly 'cos you know you can't blame the gear, so you try harder! - if its sounding shit, its your fault!

My first impressions of the 3 new pedals, The Nether is by far my favorite, tracks well with single notes, more than that and it gets lost. Sounds good too, rich. The Vibraclone is not bad, not too much variation with with the speed knob, tone is ok, nothing to write home about, a little thin sounding IMHO, drive knob is useful. The Rusty Fuzz is not too bad, a slightly harsh and thin, kind of a one trick pony. I actually just got the Black Ash so I played these back to back and maybe that's why I'm not too impressed with it. Overall a good deal on some extra pedals to have lying around. None of these will make it on my board but they will be fun and useful for recording.

Got the GF guitar.

I talked about this a couple months ago.
I do a lotta gigs where, even if it doesn't rain, the night fog rolls in and I literally have water running off my gear by the time I'm done.

So I wanted something cheap that I wouldn't care about and with a finish that I wouldn't care about.
I have some of those but none of them are that much fun to play.

I had been reading about these Slick Guitars (Earl Slick ) for a while and recently Premier Guitar did a review on one and gave it an over-the-top review so when GF had a 20% sale, I ordered one ... the SL50
https://www.guitarfetish.com/Slick-SL50 ... 24898.html

Came in Wed ..... I took it outta the box and lord if it wasn't perfect right outta the box .... shockingly so.
Intonation was spot-on ..... action was perfect for me and pick-up heights were dialed in.
So I said, "I'm gonna gig it tonight" and I did.
There's literally nothing that needs tweaking ..... even with the strings it shipped with it was perfect Right Outta The Box!!

It has almost no paint on it .... resonates like a mother and was actually inspiring to play.
I texted wifey several times during the night about how awesome the stupid little thing was!
And I got the SL50 rather than a more traditional tele (which they have) because I hoped that massive brass wrap-around bridge woiuld bring its own tonal qualities to the guitar and it does.

Paid $165 for the git and another 30 bucks for their hard-sided gig bag case which is awesome in its own right as it's so freakin' light I had to check and make sure the guitar was even in it.

I may have to get one of the other models ...... this isn't just a surprisingly good for the money guitar ..... its simply a bad-ass guitar period!

I have to invest in one.
Over the last three weeks of storms we've had 5 or 6 roof tiles break and water get into the living room twice and the kitchen once. Each visit by the roofer was $300. there was every likelihood that the tiles weren't broken and I'd've had to pay the call out fee. If I get a drone with camera I'll be able to check the rook regularly and not wait for internal rain to let me know there's a problem.
The post office is selling some with cameras for about AUS$70 so am doing some research into the thing.
Cheers

We use drones at work all the time for surveying - they're great. We even do volumetic calculations for earthworks using drone models.

Bubba wrote: Sun Apr 30, 2017 8:30 am Sometime this week I'm buying a mint used pair of Yamaha HS8 monitor speakers. I'm really stoked to use them. I feel that the low end is one of the bits of my mixing that is falling behind the rest in terms of keeping it under control and balancing it correctly.
In order to do that, I guess I'm going to need to hear it properly. :sherlock:

So, if any British Rebels fancy some Yamaha HS5s, there will be a pair going spare very soon. :)
Bubba, after using the Yamaha HS8's for way over a year now, whaddya think of 'em??? I'm still using the M-Audio BX8's I've had for years, but I'm looking at possibly getting some better monitors...

I do have some treatment in my room, but I'll probably pick up some more Roxul to make some more panels & basstraps before long...Even though it's winter, I should be able to have a day or two here/there to slap 'em together...

Any of you guys that have experience with these monitors care to share your opinion of 'em???
