Thoughts on Dylan Impression
Went to an open mic and sang and played quite a few songs. One of them was a Dylan song and the people there told me I should come back and play all Dylan songs because I sounded a bit like him. I said okay, but I don’t want to go in if I sound like garbage. Excuse the mistakes as I’m still learning them. Sound okay or nah?

Not as nasal as RZ but in the same ball park.
A fair rendition of him though.

Hey Crows,
I may be wrong but the afore mentioned lack of "nasaliness" could be attributed to the recording chain, overall I enjoyed it. The wife heard it and coming from someone who doesn't really appreciate Dylan's voice, she said you nailed it.
Well done mate.

Hahaha I appreciate it all—the wife comment was funny. Yeah, I just recorded it on the iPad. I can probably go a little nasalier, but I don’t want to sound like a try hard.

Re: Thoughts on Dylan Impression
That's a decent impression, but I'd honestly be pretty bored if someone at an open mic did more than one song of that.

Thank ya! I’d sorta think so, too. I only get three songs. I’m almost tempted to ask the audience after one cover if they’d rather hear more Dylan or my own songs. Whichever is louder wins.vomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Sat Nov 17, 2018 2:52 pm That's a decent impression, but I'd honestly be pretty bored if someone at an open mic did more than one song of that.

Thank ya! The open mic is tonight. I think I’ll cut a Dylan song and do one of my own to mix it up a bit.

Blowin' In the Wind was my favorite. Your impression was best on that one. Mr. Tambourine Man was my second favorite.

Thanks Triple!
It was a lame open mic, but I learned some songs and harmonica, so it wasn’t all bad.

Sorry to hear the night was lame, but you do a good impression of him. Nice thing to have in your pocket for performances.CrowsofFritz wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 10:47 pm Thanks Triple!

Thank you so much! It was lame, but far from the worst I’ve been to. And I’ll definitely be going to others in the future. I don’t think there will ever be something I’ll play that’s worse than the gig I played that shall not be named lol.musicturtle wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 1:54 pmSorry to hear the night was lame, but you do a good impression of him.
