Pull Over Honey
Just a short fun song. I think my mix has improved from the last listing.
All advice regretfully excepted. Thanks in advance Rob

Re: Pull Over Honey
Sounds pretty tidy Rob.
I think the guitar that's constant on the L could use some low cut from it OR mud removal.
Not as much sibilance on this one - some but not bad at all though when all three vocals are running what is there stacks up.Are you using pop filter or windscreen on the mic? Either of those may help - OR try the pencil trick. It might be useful to lower the volume on PULL as it hits pretty hard in headphones.

Re: Pull Over Honey
Seems pretty clean. BGVox might be a touch loud.

Hi Ray. Thanks for your help. I have a pop filter on the mic. You may need to explain the pencil trick the volume on pull please.
Also thanks to Steve for listening.

Re: Pull Over Honey
Rob, if you use a little blutak or a rubber band to hold a pencil on the face of the mic you sing into it breaks up "plosives" and some harsh sounds.
PULL - when you sing that at the beginning of the choruses it's quite loud compared to the rest and needs taming. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

It's an old, old trick for dealing with plosives etc. I found the snap in an image search.
Do with it as you wish.

Huh... Interesting. Does it affect sound in other ways?rayc wrote: ↑Tue Apr 24, 2018 8:26 pm Rob, if you use a little blutak or a rubber band to hold a pencil on the face of the mic you sing into it breaks up "plosives" and some harsh sounds.

This sounds pretty tidy to me.
I don't think the backing vox are too loud, I think the lead might be a touch loud though.
How much of the instrumentation are you doing on this?

Not unless you use a really FAT pencil and heaps of sticky tape.vomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 12:09 pm Huh... Interesting. Does it affect sound in other ways?
It's almost sonically invisible - merely breaks up the plosives so they don't hit the diaphragm hard.

Re: Pull Over Honey
Having a listen now Bob and right away i think the BG vox could come back a little bit. Does the main verse vocal drop in the choruses? they sound like they might?Ironbarkbob wrote: ↑Tue Apr 24, 2018 7:12 am Just a short fun song. I think my mix has improved from the last listing.

Re: Pull Over Honey
So you're saying don't wrap my mic in an entire roll of duct tape? o . Orayc wrote: ↑Sun Apr 29, 2018 9:54 amNot unless you use a really FAT pencil and heaps of sticky tape.vomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 12:09 pm Huh... Interesting. Does it affect sound in other ways?

Re: Pull Over Honey
Yes. The pencil/pen held in place with as little as possible. Tape or bands that are no where near the diaphragm.vomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Mon Apr 30, 2018 3:38 pmSo you're saying don't wrap my mic in an entire roll of duct tape? o . O
