Yes
And James, good work by you as well. I thought the solo parts turned out really well.
Was that you on vocals? If so, that was very good.

I thought it was ido1957, another Ray collaborator who we've known for a long time. You sound a lot like him. Very nice job.

I am only getting in here at Carne2. but started out with the OP version. Night and friggin day buddy. The vocals are sitting in there much much nicer then where you started out at. I listened to the first OP versio nand read through all the comments and it was awesome to "read" how it was going to evolve and then actually hear it by the time i got to this page.

Very good guys. I love how things seem to come together for all of you.

Ray, sorry i always chime in way too late. I feel like when i listen to these things i need to igve a fair listen rather than jst my work ear buds. Hopefully thats makes sense?

I gotta get my own shit in here some day.

Shan,
Thanks for the thumbs up.
It's a process and the ears in here help a lot.
No idea/comment/suggestion offered was a retrograde step for the mix.
Yes, get your songs up.

(Leave the Bed) Untried - DONE

Post by rayc »

Here's the song done & dusted.
MST Dec 17 no delay.mp3
There are two versions from the M.E. This is the one James & Tony are happiest with and, as major contributors, that is extremely important.
This rates as one of my fastest writing, recording & collaborating runs: from conception 18th December 2017 to completion , oddly enough, 18th March 2018.
Tony, James - THANK YOU.

Here's the alternate master of (Leave the Bed) Untried.
This version is NOT for headphones.
It works in a room from speakers and at volume.
In headphones it can, to some, seem a little annoying in spots.
I'd like your thoughts either way but IF you are able to play it in a room with some thump please let me know your thoughts.

This sounds really good, ray. I'm listening on headphones and its not bothering me at all.

They delay has been added back into the vocal on this one though hasn't it?

James,
Yeah, it's just the original mastered version. I thought I'd post it to keep the thread alive a little longer.
I popped it onto a cd a few days back - well, both versions, and this one REALLY sounds ace in a living room with some volume.
the delay free version sounds fab as well - rather hard to choose for me.
Cheers
