It's a good thing - "New" VHS song
Full disclosure - I recorded this song once years and years ago. I don't like that recording tho.
This is a complete re-record.
As always any feedback is welcome:

(The original version is here if you really want it.)
Re: It's a good thing - "New" VHS song
Sound better than the original.
Some of the pronunciation and rhymes bug me but that's a cultural, annoying, pedant, prat thing I have.
The "bit crushed" sound works in context.
The sadness of growing older and fulfilling traditional Consumer roles writ large on the face of a 10 year old I suppose.

Thanks Ray. I'm trying to think of what words sound mis-pronounced to Aussie ears... Centauri? Millionaire? FOURget?
I've got a new mix with the ancilliary percussion tweaked a bit: http://www.regdarandthefighters.com/dow ... scrolldown
Edit: Whoops, I'd forgotten that I'd also meant to tweak the kick. That's the current mix.

You guys! I taught the computer to play fills! New mix!

Sounds good, mate. I just think the fuzz guitars are bit too fuzzy when everything else comes in, so they just start to get quite mushy. Don't suppose that matters too much though - they sound good and probably suit the song.vomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2017 9:43 pm You guys! I taught the computer to play fills! New mix!
The vocal is really good on this too.
The 1, 2, 3, 4, is really big build up and it doesn't seem to come in with quite enough impact after that. Maybe just turn the counting down a touch as it feels like there's a slightly volume drop after the 4!

Your Regdar mixing has gotten a lot better. I always liked your stuff, but it used to sometimes be hard to listen to. You've now got all of your weirdness under control. Well done.

nice ..... mix sounds a bit murky to moi but I like the tunage and I just woke up so my ears get up later so take mix comments with a grain of salt

Just got around to the latest mix, mate. Its keeps all your weirdness but still sounds quirky and original.
I'm listening on closed back tracking cans so things tend to sound darker than normal, but the kick seems a little overbearing and boomy, particularly in the intro. See if someone else notices it.

Hmmm... I might have forgotten to mid-pass filter the kick in the intro. (Or it might be the randomized drums, which have no automation)
