who was it tried the John Mayer Signature Slinkies?
I Like em'!
And the tin the 3 sets come in is super useful for carrying single replacement strings.
I haven't seen anything suggesting they're anything other than Slinkies in his preferred gauge but they seem to last pretty good and I absolutely love the slightly heavier gauge

I could have sworn it was you dude haha. Guess not. I don't recall anyone other than you talking about them but i could be way wrong.

How do they get his signature on each string, that's what I want to know.
Re: who was it tried the John Mayer Signature Slinkies?
It's a 10.5 set. Not quite typical 11s, slightly heavier than standard 10s. Seems like a good idea for a set if you ignore the name attached to it.
Rebel Yell

I really like the gauge a lot

I usually buy Ernie Ball Slinkies but with arthritis at present I'm done to 9s AND I've bought some generic string recently and can't really feel a difference.

My new strat came with 9s and I haven't changed them yet, and I'm quite enjoying the extra bendiness...so i bought some D'Addario NYXL 9s to replace them with when I get around to it. I may try something lighter on something else too. The Duesenberg recommends specific strings so I won't play with that and I'm not a 9s on LPs yet - maybe I'll dig the PRS out and put some on it and try to rekindle some feeling for it.
Re: who was it tried the John Mayer Signature Slinkies?
I like 10s on all my guitars, now. Maybe 10.5s might be nice on my Gibsons, if I get another Mustang I'll probably go for 11s. I wish I still had that Mustang.
9s on my crimson might feel nice, but I'm so used to it with 10s, the intonation is excellent and I can't be arsed to mess with it.
Years ago, I used to plays 8s on my Ibanez. Really suited that guitar.

I play so much I suppose my fingers are strong ..... 9s are just too floppy for me ...... 10's have long been my preference but occasionally on a Fender scale they get a little too easy to bend.
And I like 11s on Gibson scale although they're just a little stiff ..... these 10.5 seem to make a good compromise.
Bending is a BIG part of my playing so getting that just right is helpful.

Since I don't play lead, (can't), and don't bend I don't have to worry about such things but I get what you ^ James mean.

I change strings like a bassist.
This means my guitars all have strings that are at least 6 months old, and I have a couple packs of 12s on hand for when I break one.
