As democracy limps weakly along in the other thread, let's dole out the songs in Nevermind!
No particular rules to this one. Just pick a song from the album, let us know so there's no overlap, and play it however you want

Can I suggest that Tony @musicturtle shouldn't be allowed to do Polly or Something In The Way. He'd probably do them in a single take and they'd be perfect first time!
So I guess that this means that after almost 35 years of putting it off, I'm finally going to have to listen to Nevermind for the first time. I detested Nirvana when they broke in the early 90s because I was into (what I now realize is) shitty hair metal and I was angry at Nirvana for leading the charge that wiped my favorite bands off the face of the earth (or off of MTV at least). I've told myself several times in the decades since that I should go back and listen with fresh ears and that I'd probably actually like it.
I'll give it a spin this weekend and see if any of the tunes strike my fancy to cover or reimagine. I've been getting some guitar tones that I'm very happy with lately, so I'm looking forward to see if I can actually capture them and if they actually sound good upon playback or if I'm just all jacked up on the sheer volume and room-shaking energy of it. Probably the latter!

Hey, if it's more people participating, it's more people!

I appreciate your confidence in me @JD01, though I am not so sure I agree.

But I will pick something other than those two.
I just think you'd find them too easy and would just recreate the album versions. I'd love to hear your acoustic take on one of the rock songs.
I might change my mind, but I think I'll take a crack at Lithium.
I sat down and listened to the whole album, and it's so hard to hear this album out of its time. It was surprising to hear how closely the grunge movement followed the template of the songs on this album. It's like listening to every radio hit from 1991 to 1998. Those record companies were so laser focused on reproducing Nevermind's success that we ended up with almost a whole decade of soundalikes. And in retrospect, it's a little hard to separate this from all of the copycats that followed it.
I was hoping that one of the deep cuts would spark something for me, but I wasn't feeling any of them. Except Breed, that was pretty awesome. I liked the intensity and controlled chaos on that song.
I'll go with one of the few songs that I recognize already and see if I can have fun taking it in a different direction.

Dang! If you'd mentioned it yesterday, I would have picked a different song.
As is, between claiming it this afternoon and now, I've tracked everything but vocals! (I'm going up to CA to see Shan this week, I had to get it done fast!)
Ah, I had thought of something but it's now taken.
I'll opt for Territorial Pissing then.
I had to go looking for my CD of the album...I discovered I have all of their studio albums, an the official live ones too.
In the 90s folk i worked with would often buy me albums they thought I should know...these folk are all 15 years younger than I. I used to take the piss out of Nirvana & their Oz Childcare version Nirvanas In Pyjamas - Silverchair. Perhaps that's why I ended up with a couple.
