Re: My stupidest cover ever
Greg is the Chris Squires of modern Punk - except alive.
It was always a short, dumb , fun song - perfect fodder to a wall of guitars revival.
Love it.

Abba's best song, IMO.
I hope you wore thigh high silver leatherette boots whilst recording.

Thanks fellas.
No platform boots for me. I have decided I'm Team Frida though.

Greg, this is fucking brilliant. You should start an ABBA cover band.
Aside from the chorus, this sounds like its pretty complex actually, some weird timing stuff in there.
The verse caught me off guard at first then I realised its just 'cos its so unusual to hear you playing a minor chord!
Epic 80s metal style muted picking on the arpeggios too.
Downloaded anyway - its a keeper.

Lol thanks @JD01. But I play minor chords all the time. You just don't notice them because they're so perfectly placed and it's easy to be distracted by how much wow factor I can cram into a simple mix.

haha, OK. I suppose I should have said songs that are so obviously in a minor key!
Still, great cover. Reminds me, gotta send this to the mrs - she'll love it.
Re: My stupidest cover ever
My biggest takeaway from my first ever exploration into this swedish super pop band is....how the fuck did those two disgusting greasy pervy kiddie-fiddler looking sleazebag dudes land those two ladies? Those guys look to me like the very worst of the 70s, yet those ladies are quite attractive. Man, the 70s was a weird time.

She hates most of my music (and loads of what I listen to) 'cos its always a bit durgy in various minor keys. But she loves BR and generally upbeat pop punk.

Re: My stupidest cover ever
Nice. Those are some very distinct chord choices from what you usually do, yeah.
You've got some very loud lip-smacks (or something like that) in the choruses. (0:46, 0:51, 2:04, possibly others)

Strange isn't it? They were all married for years too I think.Greg_L wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 10:00 am My biggest takeaway from my first ever exploration into this swedish super pop band is....how the fuck did those two disgusting greasy pervy kiddie-fiddler looking sleazebag dudes land those two ladies? So, what next? Lay All Your Love On Me? Dancing Queen? I think you'd making a cracking version of The Winner Takes It All.

Nope. In the unlikely event that I ever go near ABBA again, it would be Ring Ring.JD01 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 11:57 am

Sounds like lip smacks (and also falls where lip smacks would go in the phrase). I suppose it could be mp3 artifacts too.Greg_L wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 3:20 pmThanks but I don't know what you're hearing there.vomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 11:56 am Nice. "Can you hear the drums, Fernando?"

Would actually work as pop punk.
