G.B.H.

Post by rayc »

Mastered and video together.
vomitHatSteve on vocals.

Lyric
V1
The harvest starts again
Wide eyed in the rain
Same strange fruit
Same sick seed
The harvest march again
Wild eyed in the rain

C1
Standing on the world's edge
Standing on the window ledge
Push passed the truth
Burying their youth
Ignore the real crime
One last time
That's what I see
That's what I know
Just to
Begin with.

V2
Losing sleep my baby?
You're wide awake in bed
And there are no 2nd prizes,
No, no 2nd prize
Same strange fruit
Same sick seed
Same anonymous source
The Qpons that you need

C2
Standing on the knife's edge
Standing on the window ledge
Push past as truth
Arm their youth
We've pardoned the real crime
Profit takes every time
That's when I see
That's when I know
Just to
Go on with.
solo
v3
The harvest starts again
Wide eyed in the rain
Same strange fruit
Same sick seed
The harvest march again
Wild eyed in the rain

C3
Standing on the ocean's edge
Standing on the tidal ledge
Push alternate truth
Burying our youth
We've all bought the big lie
As earth dies
That's all I see
That's all I know
Just to
end with.

v4
Losing sleep my baby?
You're wide awake in bed
And there are no 2nd prizes,
No, no 2nd prize
Same strange fruit
Same sick seed
Same anonymous source
The Qpons that you need

Vocals sound good. I like the bass sound.

Rhythm guitars could use a little more definition. They're also getting in the way of the vocal just a bit. Maybe a bit too much gain used in tracking?

Kick sounds real cool. Snare sounds compressed pretty hard. Has that "shot gun" sound. Not sure it fits here.

Love the lead guitar tone and part.

Thanks @TripleM ,
When you write "gain" at what stage - into amp, in amp, in mic pre?
Drums are a stereo file so I can't alter things much.
All moot though as it says on the label - "mastered".

The amp's preamp stage. So I suppose that's "in amp?" or amp sim, or whatever.

Very cool, vocals sound great fit the song well, guitars and bass sound great, echoing triplem, guitars could maybe come down a little during verses to create a cool dynamic between those parts and the instrumental parts/solo between. This is a a good one Ray, nice job by all involved!

@JD01 ,
Thank you sir.
Yes Steve walks the fine line between under & over selling the narrative very well.

@CeeBee ,
Thanks mate.
It was a bit wordy so I chopped chunks out - a think that was a good move.
